Overview
Job Overview: We are on the lookout for a Senior Learning Experience Designer to play a key role in crafting impactful learning experiences for the leadership and career development offerings within our Mastercard Learning Academies. This individual will work in close collaboration with HR Business Partners, Subject Matter Experts, Program Managers, and other key stakeholders. Their primary responsibility is to develop effective learning experiences that help us drive strategic business objectives while meeting the diverse needs of our learners.
While the Program Manager oversees the entire learning journey, the Senior Learning Experience Designer (this role) zeroes in on the development and execution stages. This role is structured with the potential for growth into a Program Manager position.
Key Responsibilities:
Analysis:
•\tCollaborate with Program Managers to understand training needs, learner profiles, and performance gaps.
•\tConduct in-depth user research through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights into learner behaviors, preferences, and challenges.
•\tAnalyze and synthesize research data to create learner personas, helping to ensure content and delivery methods are tailored to target audiences effectively.
•\tEmploy iterative prototyping and A/B testing methodologies to refine learning experiences based on real user feedback.
•\tConduct learner audience analysis to customize learning paths and strategies.
•\tReview existing training materials, including internally created content and content libraries, and use UX insights to suggest recommendations for the agile development of experiences.
Design:
•\tPartner withProgram Managers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to outline and prototype end-to-end learning experiences, ensuring alignment with roadmaps and strategic goals.
•\tChoose appropriate instructional strategies and modalities for content development and implementation, considering scalability, maintainability, and overall product lifecycle.
•\tDraft design documents, such as curriculum maps, course outlines, and learning objectives, while maintaining a backlog of potential content improvements and updates.
•\tImplement agile methodologies, using iterative development and feedback loops to continuously enhance learning products.
Development:
•\tCraft engaging, effective, and interactive learning experiences using authoring tools. Use principles from UX design to ensure content is user-centric, intuitive, and caters to varied learner personas.
•\tImplement product management methodologies to manage content iterations, prioritize updates based on user feedback, and ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
•\tInfuse digital marketing strategies by understanding learner journeys and optimizing content for discoverability and engagement.
•\tUtilize A/B testing and other digital marketing techniques to understand learner preferences, maximizing engagement and retention.
Implementation:
•\tPartner with the Program Manager to ensure smooth rollout of learning experiences.
•\tTrain facilitators or trainers as necessary.
•\tProvide support during the initial launch of training programs.
•\tTest and refine course materials based on feedback from beta tests or pilot sessions, using analytics and user behavior metrics to inform refinements.
•\tIterate on user feedback, employing agile product management practices to continuously evolve and enhance learning offerings.
•\tWork closely with HRBPs, Comms, etc. teams to ensure that promotional strategies for the learning content align with overall learner acquisition and engagement goals.
Evaluation:
•\tGather feedback from learners and stakeholders post-training to assess the effectiveness of learning experiences.
•\tCollaborate with PMs to analyze key metrics and KPIs.
•\tPropose and implement revisions based on evaluation findings to ensure continuous improvement.
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
•\tHave 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fintech/tech environment
- Proven record of accomplishment developing instruction for leadership development programs (Executives and Senior audiences)
•\tExpert level knowledge of authoring tools (Articulate) and Learning Platforms (Cornerstone, Degreed)
•\tOutstanding graphic design skills and copywriting abilities
•\tExceptional organization and project management skills
•\tCulture builder and employee experience expert – passionate about fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
•\tSelf-directed and comfortable working within a distributed team.
•\tStrong ability to influence across teams and build partnerships that drive business outcomes.
