We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate.

Principal Responsibilities

Provide counsel and end-to-end support on a variety of corporate law matters in the ASP region (wide range of corporate transactions (including mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, divestures, joint ventures, strategic alliances and restructurings), capital instruments, and general advice on company law, listing rules, disclosure obligations, corporate governance and recovery and resolution planning matters) including matters that are complex or have potential for significant impactDrive legal aspects of corporate projects, including transaction structure, due diligence, deal negotiation, contract drafting, regulatory compliance and transaction management, where relevantTo be considered a trusted adviser to the business by ensuring that commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical legal support and advice is provided in a cost-effective mannerProvide support and guidance to HBAP departments and to the Global Legal Function with regard to the identification and management of legal risks arising in area of expertise in the ASP regionBe proactive in the provision of legal support and in advising the business promptly of material legal developments and their implications in area of expertise in the ASP regionParticipate in the co-ordination and promotion of initiatives that result in the sharing of legal knowledge and best practices across the Global Legal FunctionTo be a guardian of HSBC’s reputation, values and brand through appropriate legal and commercial guidance and the escalation of matters that create potential for undue reputational, legal or commercial risk
