We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Legal Counsel.

Principal responsibilities
Act as subject matter expert for all employee relations / employment law related aspects for HR Business Partners, HR Advisors and Business Managers; providing advisory onvariety of labour and employment matters including key transformation / change initiatives / restructuring / redundancies / offshoringutilizing appropriate approach / methodology to identify associated risks with actions / decisionsEffectively engage and manage relationships with legal counsels; work on litigation strategy with respect to employment disputes; ownership accountability for outcomes and for execution of strategies including coordination with lawyers, drafting, review and approval of submissions before Courts and various authorities, appearance before statutory authorities and courts (with or without external counsels).Provide legal advice, guidance and support to the Group ER and HR departments within India and the GSCs, as well as end user clients, working as part of the Employment, Benefits and Incentives Legal team to ensure that the Group’s exposure to legal risk is managed. Co-ordinate advice for GSCs in other locations globally and liaising with local ER and HR departments.Assist the Regional Employment Law team (based in Hong Kong) co-ordinate advice regionally as required.Be a trusted adviser to the Bank by ensuring that commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical legal support and advice is provided in a cost-effective manner.Help manage external legal spend and support/drive productive, efficient and focused relationships with external providers.Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with all team members within Legal and colleagues in the business lines and functions, especially in ER and HR; andEnsure key stakeholders are fully briefed on major issues arising in relevant business area and major legislative changes impacting HSBC from a legal risk/litigation risk standpointSome careers have more impact than others.
