We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Accountant to manage wholesale and retail loan processing, perform detailed account reconciliations, and provide essential accounting support. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in loan accounting and demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel and large ERP systems.
Responsibilities:
+ Process and reconcile daily cash settlements for clients off-loan accounting and GL systems.
+ Reconcile clients' cash clearing accounts and ensure they remain within thresholds.
+ Ensure accurate interest expense calculations on wholesale loans through necessary adjustments.
+ Create and maintain wholesale loan records and update commitment details in the loan accounting system.
+ Calculate MCD rates for wholesale loans and update systems accordingly.
+ Notify stakeholders of changes to wholesale notes as needed.
+ Process wholesale and retail fees.
+ Create customer records and commitment details for retail loans, if applicable.
+ Set up loans according to loan officer requirements and request additional information as necessary.
+ Create rate locks utilizing FPS and/or provide rate quotes.
+ Analyze and process monetary and maintenance transactions in accordance with contract parameters.
+ Research discrepancies and determine appropriate resolutions.
+ Prepare and analyze various weekly and monthly loan accounting reports.
+ Perform asset pool-related accounting functions, including loan setups, workbook modifications, daily entries, maintenance, and reporting.
+ Administer reconciliation systems, if applicable.
+ Assist team members with bank balancing systems.
+ Monitor and reconcile assigned accounts on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis.
+ Identify, research, and resolve reconciling items, escalating issues to achieve resolution.
+ Contact clients or other departments to gather information and resolve issues.
+ Prepare and submit journal entries to correct items discovered during reconciliations.
+ Provide guidance to team members on cash account reconciliations.
+ Perform weekly reconciliation of wholesale loan disbursement issues, follow up on outstanding issues, and compile and distribute quarterly outstanding check registers to clients.
+ Calculate significant and/or complex accounting processes.
+ Participate in training for new or promoted team members and new or revised processes.
+ Coordinate requests and prepare submissions for various departments, auditors, and third parties.
Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of loan accounting experience.
+ 1+ year of farm credit industry experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
+ Advanced Excel skills.
+ Experience with large ERP systems and reporting tools.
+ DNA or Cornerstone ERP experience is a plus.
Environment:
Candidates will work fully remotely with quarterly travel required to the St. Paul office, with all travel and hotel expenses covered. The work environment is flexible, with a "be there when you need to be" policy. The team culture is supportive and collaborative, with opportunities for growth and advancement. The office in Downtown St. Paul features a beautiful building and excellent workspaces.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00
