Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Logistics Systems Manager to join the Legrand Corporate Team in Union, OH or Fort Mill, SC.
The Sr Logistics Systems Manager is responsible for the strategy, planning, administration, and operational support of all logistics and warehouse systems and technologies. This position is responsible for defining the appropriate standards, policies, procedures, software tool sets, and supporting peripherals to facilitate and support the Legrand North American warehouse and logistics function. The management, accountability, functionality, integrity, and security of all software and database systems such as but limited to PKMS (WMS), WCS interface, WES, Labor Management Databases, and Automation integration.
What Will You Do?
Main Activities:
Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with warehouse leaders, warehouse associates, IT and business leaders, and key users.Create and maintain system and technology strategies for upgrades and alignment to warehouse projects and requirements. Develop business cases for proposed improvements along with supporting the annual department investment budget.Recommends projects for approval to logistics management. Evaluates, recommends, and installs productivity tools and processes to improve warehouse productivity and reduce process cycle time. Evaluates hardware such as scan guns, tablets, voice technology and other devices that facilitate WMS transactions.Advise on options, risks, resource requirements, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.Reviews and prioritizes IT support tickets, support requests, etc.Develop and promote standard operating procedures, centralized across logistics, where possible. Ensure compliance with software licensing regulations.Review, recommend, implement additional warehouse systems including but not limited to warehouse controls systems (WCS), warehouse execution systems (WES), labor management (LMS), automation integration and technology applications.Provides input and oversight for all data governance, including but not limited to item master, barcode master, location master and all key warehouse records to maintain secure data, data accuracy and consistent data across logistics.Support overall logistics projects with key analytic summarized and presented in a format that can help drive function and site performance. Strong understanding of business analytic tools.Manage WMS staffing and site superusers as needed. Directs day to day and project related activities, ensures on-call coverage for warehouse systems. Provide advanced training to critical systems resources.Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.Partner with the LNCA IT Infrastructure team to drive infrastructure and operations service excellence in a matrixed global environment.Develop disaster recovery scenarios and contingency plans for WMS to maintain operations during a major disaster. Identify policies and procedures for disaster recovery, and test plans with various operational and support groups within the IT organization. Integral part of disaster recovery team.All other duties as required or requested. QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer or software engineering, logistics or related.
Experience: 7-10 years’ experience in the information technology field covering multiple software applications, including warehouse management system environments. Scrum or PMP certification a plus. Logistics experience a must.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Proven experience in warehouse management systems. Strong technical knowledge of warehouse hardware, software, protocols and standards. Extensive application support experience. Must have the ability to effectively research and evaluate issues, solutions, products and services and provide relevant information to make good business decisions.Exceptional project management, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and achieving agreed to goals.Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
