Provides occupational risk assessment and risk management services in support of developing and retaining select clients aligned with the business objectives of the company. In alignment with the assigned book of business, this position also establishes the client’s risks management business plans, participates in the client risk management process and identifies and supports opportunities to enhance client management of occupational risk. Supports underwriting with risk selection and ongoing account management.
Conducts new business and renewal Loss Control surveys in support of underwriting risk selection practicesProvides policyholder Loss Control services targeting loss performance improvement and retentionCollaborates with Underwriting, Claims, the policyholder and agent in the delivery and execution of Loss Control survey and service practicesImparts strong technical and business skills across all major lines of coverage with peers, business partners and external customersSupports the continual improvement and growth of the Loss Control Department through internal training and education, practice and procedure development, and process enhancement contributionsFosters and sustains professional relationships with peers, business partners, policyholders and agentsConducts multi-coverage line Loss Control surveys on a broad spectrum of industries of varying size and complexity in the Middle Market segmentSubmits recommendations and manages their follow-up internally and externally to improve risk conditionsFacilitates, develops and delivers Loss Control services to targeted policyholders through analyses, planning and collaborationFosters relationships with policyholders and agents aligned to Loss Control objectives targeting brand recognition and valueParticipates in individual and team-based agency visits focusing on the delivery of technical capability, policyholder support and brand value.Shares existing and newly acquired technical knowledge with policyholders, agents, peers and business partners through training and education practicesKeeps abreast of industry and technical news and developments and share the knowledge gained with peers, business partners, policyholders and agentsParticipates and contributes to internal, multi-discipline round table meetings Qualifications Candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to Western PA.Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Concentration in Safety and Health, Fire Protection, Applied Sciences, Engineering, Math, Business Administration or related are preferred. Equivalent combinations of academic concentrations and work experience are considered.One or more of the following credentials/certifications has been achieved:Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS),Associate Safety Professional (ASP),Associate in Risk Management (ARM)Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM)Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) Service Provider qualifications/credentials recognized by the PA Workers Compensation ActMinimum 7 years of experience demonstrating technical experience and expertise in property, general liability, products liability, automobile and workers’ compensationProven track record of success in implementing loss control solutionsProficient computer skills aligned to report writing software and workExcellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritizeMeets or exceeds Department Standards for production, quality and timelinessExemplifies and facilitates results-based ownership and an entrepreneurial culture.
