Best Buy Co. has an opening in Seattle, Washington for the position of Senior Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer. Research, develop, and apply theoretical expertise in applying innovative machine learning and AI algorithms to devise solutions and build innovative technologies, services, and products that solve the company’s hardest problems. Apply software engineering skills to develop and deploy solutions that can scale to millions of requests per second with millisecond latency. Utilize broad and deep knowledge of machine learning and software engineering to contribute to the roadmap of Best Buy’s core machine learning capabilities. Analyze and build real products that influence and enhance the lives of millions of people and drive and deliver tens of millions of dollars in impact to Best Buy’s bottom line. Apply theoretical expertise and innovation to create or apply new technology, such as adapting principles for applying computers to new uses. Assign or schedule tasks to meet work priorities and goals. Meet with managers, vendors, and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems. Analyze problems to develop solutions involving computer hardware and software. Conduct logical analyses of business, scientific, engineering, and other technical problems, formulating mathematical models of problems for solution by computers. Full requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in computer science and engineering, computer engineering, or related technology field, plus two years of experience building ML and/or AI driven products. Experience must include experience with: (1) data science/analytics programming language (e.g. Python, R, Julia); (2) building production grade ML models using one or more Deep Learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, MXNet or ONNX; and (3) one or more CI/CD, MLOps, DataOps and Orchestration platforms like KubeFlow, Prefect, Apache Airflow, MLFlow, Spark, Luigi, or Argo, for end-to-end model building, training, serving and monitoring; and (4) one of the following: supervised and unsupervised learning methods, reinforcement learning, deep learning, Bayesian inference, graphical modeling, or nonlinear/stochastic optimization. The pay ranges from $142,064/yr to $176,571/yr.
