Senior Macintosh Systems Engineer

GCyber is looking for a Senior Macintosh Systems Engineer, to support DISA J6 Macintosh Center of Excellence. They’ll be part of a collaborative team tasked with the design, implementation, operation, and security of the DISA J6 Mac environment. The team is also responsible for providing escalated end-user support for managed Mac endpoints within the environment. The candidate will develop system administration solutions, implement security hardening recommendations using DISA STIGs, and serve as the highest escalation point for complex or widespread issues affecting the Mac environment. The candidate will also integrate multiple third-party applications required for securely operating within existing DoD Active Directory based networks.
As the Senior Macintosh Systems Engineer, you will:
+ Lead the development of images and workflows as new macOS versions are released
+ Perform maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting for the on-prem MDM solution, Jamf Pro
+ Create and maintain scripts using languages that are natively supported in macOS such as Bash and AppleScript
+ Perform high-level system evaluation, analysis, design, and implementation for the enterprise Mac environment to enable integration with the enterprise Windows environment architecture
+ Develop automated solutions for system administration, endpoint security, and end-user operations
+ Create and maintain documentation/network diagrams for the Mac environment architecture
+ Provide engineering support to analyze and resolve complex issues related to macOS or deployed software
+ Work with vendors to address issues that require escalation, and provide testing and feedback to vendors when working towards successful resolution of escalated issues
+ Manage macOS updates and upgrades using Jamf Pro’s built-in methods or solutions such as S.U.P.E.R.M.A.N.
+ Configure, test, and implement DISA STIG requirements in accordance with DoD and Federal Government IT security policies
+ Create and administer application packages using Jamf Pro
+ Provide COTS support and configuration knowledge for Mac applications in the environment
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
+ Active DoD Secret Clearance
+ DoD 8570 IAT II Certification or higher (https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications)
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10 years of professional IT experience with at least 4 years in Apple/macOS administration/engineering; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
+ Jamf100 – Jamf Certified Associate
+ Jamf200 – Jamf Certified Tech
+ Jamf300 – Jamf Certified Admin
+ Proficiency with Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, Single Sign-On (SSO) etc.
+ Strong scripting experience using Bash and AppleScript
+ Experience with the following Apple technologies: Apple Configurator, Apple Business Manager, and FileVault
+ Knowledge of installing, configuring, and supporting the following third-party software: Trellix, Microsoft Defender, Tenable Nessus Agent, Cisco AnyConnect and/or Palo Alto GlobalProtect
+ Knowledge of Windows network based authentication using smartcard (CAC/PIV) accreditation for Kerberos
+ Knowledge and understanding of PKI, trusted certificates, certificate authorities, and Keychain configuration
+ Strong knowledge of Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) provisioning methods
