Senior Mainframe Analyst (MICS / MXG)

The Infrastructure & Operations Enterprise Capacity Management team is responsible for driving capacity recommendations to application and Product teams to ensure our datacenter footprint is rightsized to reduce risk and improve efficiencies.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Systems Engineering (Individual Contributor) to join an exceptional team of resources whose mission is to provide best in class infrastructure operations to our clients. You will be responsible for providing data driven results to right size Mainframe loads, reduce cost, and improve efficiency for the group overall.

What you have

Required qualifications:

B.S. / B.A in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or in Statistical and other quantitative field is minimally required.7+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe hardware components and system management.5+ years’ experience as a capacity planner in a complex IBM mainframe environment.5+ years’ experience coding SAS routines to capture measurement data for forecasting.

Preferred qualifications:

Advanced SAS coding SAS macrosIn Depth Knowledge in MICS / MXGIn-depth knowledge and understanding of the zOS operating system, JES2, and all other components of the zOS mainframe environment.Proven experience managing Coupling Facilities in Sysplex environments. Responsible for maintaining, installing, and customizing the mainframe z/OS operating system environment.Knowledge in IOCDS and IODEF modifications for new hardware installation, configuration, managing LPARs configuration.  Experience using IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC).Knowledge of Mainframe Hardware including CEC, DASD, and Tape.  Proven ability to diagnose complex issues and recommend solutions as needed.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   Knowledge of Microsoft Office products that include – Word and Excel.  Excellent collaboration skills with internal as well as external team members.
