Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking for Senior Mainframe Application Engineer to join in our team of IT professionals in a permanent role. Role: Senior Mainframe Application Engineer

Experience: 6+ years of strong experience

Location: The candidate must be willing to work in a hybrid model from the Client’s location in Brookfield,WI, Hopkins,MN, Chicago,IL

Required Skills: Mainframe Sort/Compare Utilities, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, Git, IDZ, Mainframe Focus

· Candidate should have very good knowledge and Hands-on in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2

· Candidate should have good hands-on experience designing online screens and should have work experience is writing CICS programs

· Candidate should have experience using Git for implementation of code

· Candidate should have experience using IDz for development

· Nice to have knowledge on Focus

· Nice to have knowledge in Data Publishing

· Ready to learn new API related technologies.

· Need to support offshore teams

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Candidate is responsible for architecting API products for Credit card system.

· Candidate should have good understanding on Mainframe Focus programs and well exposure in File-aid, Sort and compare utilities

· You must ensure API products are designed and built to high standards, are easy for developers to implement, and can support the widest possible number of use-cases.

· The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with multiple teams across the organization.

· The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to client’s standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience.

· The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles and all GIT branching strategies.

· Candidate should have very good experience in COBOL,JCL,VSAM,DB2,CICS and related tools.

· ZConnect experience is a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
