Senior Maintenance Technician

About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Technician in Victoria, Texas.

Provides maintenance craft-specific support to plants. Maintains and repairs all types of equipment with craft knowledge and expertise. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.Calibrates and aligns equipment.Completes preventative maintenance activities.Checks sizing of components and parts.Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.Coordinates maintenance spare parts.Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures, and repairs all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.Repairs, maintains, and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.Repairing a variety of processes and rotating equipment used in industrial processing. The mechanical equipment may include ANSI pumps, various types of compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, mixers, extruders, and agitators.This job requires hands-on fieldwork to determine the cause of equipment failure, locate spare parts, and install spare parts using repair procedures and machinist techniques for alignment.The requirement to become certified in repairing specialty high-pressure compressors and associated high-pressure equipment.Utilize functional, and technical knowledge, company standards, and educational background or experience to analyze and solve problems.Effectively working and maintaining relationships with the Natural Work Teams and key stakeholders with diverse perspectives and backgrounds is essential including Engineers, Operations personnel, and co-workers to identify and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

A minimum of a High School diploma or GED and one of the following: 2-year degree in a mechanical type craft plus 2 years of experience.In lieu of a degree Dow will consider those with 3 or more years of relevant military experience. 5 or more years of experience in an industrial environment as a Millwright/Mechanic. Current, valid US driver's license.A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

NCCER certified as a Millwright (NCCER Certification obtained through an Instructor Led Training Program is a preference).Familiarity with Laser alignment techniques.Familiarity with Extrusion equipment consisting of extruders, pelleters, and gearboxes.Familiarity with compressors both reciprocating and centrifugal.Machining experience including utilizing precision measurement tools.
