About the role 

The Senior Manager, Content Accounting will play a pivotal role in crafting the accounting systems, processes and procedures for content accounting. Reporting to the Director of Content Accounting, this leader will collaborate cross-functionally with teams like content acquisitions, legal, FP&A, operations, and engineering. The role requires navigating a high-growth, ambiguous environment while standardizing processes, managing revenue-share models, and ensuring accuracy in reporting.  This new position will be based out of our Santa Monica office, with a hybrid schedule of three days per week in-office and no travel requirements. 

 

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $190,000 and $206,750 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off. 

 
What you'll be doing 
  Building financial infrastructure and processes to support the accounting operations of content related business, including revenue share accruals, partner payments, and contract reviews  Collaborating with deal teams to create best practices deal structures  Acting as a financial leader in cross-functional teams, bridging communication between Accounting, Content Acquisitions, Legal, FP&A, and Engineering  Analyzing large datasets related to content streaming hours, revenue shares, and partner reporting to ensure accuracy and actionable insights  Reviewing and verifying the financial terms of content agreements, with a focus on compliance and scalability  Providing insights and recommendations to senior executives based on data analysis and financial reporting  Driving innovation and constant iteration in accounting systems and processes 
  We're excited if you have 
  Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills  5+ years of professional experience, ideally 2+ years of experience in content accounting at a major studio, media, or tech company  Familiarity with revenue share models, partner payments, and content streaming metrics  Lead large-scale projects and initiatives for a growing business line  Experience working in ambiguous, high-growth environments, with a proven track record of solving problems and crafting solutions from scratch  Flexibility and willingness to pivot to new priorities in a fast-paced environment  Advanced Excel skills  Passionate about the entertainment industry
