What is the opportunity?
In support of RBC’s commitment to maintain an effective enterprise AML Program, this role is responsible for the execution of projects under the transaction monitoring / analytics program deliverables, in order to drive continuous improvement of transaction monitoring / analytics controls to identify, mitigate and manage Financial Crime risks. This role reports to Director, TM Program Management, and is accountable for the delivery of assigned transaction monitoring initiatives from the transaction monitoring / analytics initiative portfolio in compliance with regulatory expectations, internal policies and procedures. The role will also support and report on overall portfolio health of the analytics initiatives, produce metrics & reporting and ensure initiaitves alignment to broader departmental and enterprise policies.
What will you do?
Drive delivery of transaction monitoring initiatives to agreed outcomes and dates Responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of projects and initiatives for the Risk Strategy and Delivery teamAssist in managing portfolio and inventory to bring visibility to demands, constraints, and issues within the area; in order to manage intake and support managerial decisions Develop presentation, proposals and other relevant artifacts to facilitate decision and sign off of the initiativesManage and resolve inter-dependencies and risks impacting transaction monitoring / analytics deliverables across the Financial Crime group, collaborate constructively with other sub-function leads to ensure that the required services are delivered as agreed Report progress, issues, dependencies and risks of the initiatives to leadership and committees (as appropriate) and making recommendations to influence decision making, in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefit realizationLead the planning, execution and delivery of assigned transaction monitoring / analytics initiatives, maintaining focus on key objectives while balancing the scope, timeline and costServe as an enabler for the Analytics team in delivering transaction monitoring / analytics controls, including, but not limited to assisting in completing precursory activities such as risk/coverage assessment and understanding product behaviors, to working with IT to source data, and obtaining Investigations buy-in to transaction monitoring outputDefine key milestones and success criteria of the in scope initiativesDeliver artifacts and narratives to document the agreed strategy and approachAssist in providing an aggregated line of sight of various demands and issues impacting AML Transaction Monitoring / Analytics initiatives, in order to improve quality and speed of managerial decisions, and more effectively pivot to emerging priorities when neededWhat do you need to succeed?
Must have
5-7 years of relevant experiencePost-secondary education or equivalentProven leadership and project/program management skills to drive alignment across key business functions.Proven history in program/project execution including in-depth experience and demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary initiatives of varying sizes and complexityStrong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships across RBC.Effective communication, presentation, and storytelling skills (oral and written) with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely to all levels of audiences, and produce documentation in an efficient mannerDemonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams to meet tight timelines and manage multiple deliverablesStrong problem solving skills and solution mindsetComfortable and able to navigate and adapt through ambiguity, complexity, and continuousNice to have
Demonstrated understanding of regulatory requirements, AML and Financial CrimesPrior experience with transaction monitoring controls and with analytics/modelling team is preferredWhat’s in it for you?
