The Senior Manager, Automation Systems Development will lead the organization in developing, maintaining, and governing the development, improvements, and stability of automation software systems. This individual will promote code development best practices, principles, and standards. This individual will lead the business modelers and developers with the solutions, design, and development of automation software solutions, data and interfaces. They will partner and collaborate with operations and implementation teams in producing agile and sustainable processes for the deployment and management of automated solutions across non-production and production environments. This role is responsible for internally developed automation systems and warehouse management and execution systems, including new builds and retrofits. They will mentor and manage Systems development team and external vendors engaged for the development purpose. This role will be responsible for the growth, career, and succession planning and performance management of direct reports. This individual will identify key global business requirements and translate into workable requirements containing process information, data flows, comprehensive technical specifications and contribute to test plans - challenging any requests that may be unreasonable or unnecessary - and ultimately ensuring that project deliverables are met according to requirements.
What you’ll do:
Leading development of software solutions and team related to warehouse automation systems and warehouse management or execution systems including external vendor managed contracts. Primary WES application product owner leading the automation software development. Lead and facilitate the creation and implementation of automation software governance practices and other automation tools. Responsible for solution development, break-fix, proof of concept and enhancement related KPIs (Standard DORA metrics) Prioritize features and enhancements for product portfolio, working with all stakeholders Work closely with the internal/external partners to develop & delivery, responsible for completing tasks within deadlines & budgetsWhat you’ll need:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience required 8 – 10 years of experience with Developing, managing team of developers enterprise software applications functionality such as WES/WCS, WMS, Distribution, Transportation, and Labor Management. Demonstrated ability to lead a small team is required. Knowledge of various and diverse operation systems, languages, platforms, databases, etc. (ie Unix, Windows, Java, .Net, Python, SQL, Oracle, etc.) Must be able to travel up to 30%What Could Set You Apart:
Experience developing/architecting within multiple WES platforms (DiQ, Exacta, Momentum, Sync, etc.) or in-house/homegrown WES technology Knowledge of warehousing & 3PL industries. Needs to be a first-class problem solver – Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail. Able to boil complex problems down to their constituent elements, and then formulate and evaluate a range of alternative solutions. Must have excellent conceptual design skills – an instinctive feel for which solutions ‘fit’ and which need rethinking. Experience managing multiple Projects and priorities simultaneously Strong communications skills (written/verbal), with emphasis on demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts between business and technical groups.Physical Requirements:

The Company’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for this position is $156,000 - $195,000 annually. Rate may vary based on work location.
