EPCORs Water Services group has a Full Time Permanent opportunity for a Senior Manager Capital to join the Finance team working out of the Rossdale Water Excellence Building at the Rossdale Water Treatment Plant in Edmonton, AB.

In the Senior Manager role you will be accountable for the performance of the Capital function within Water Services Finance. This includes ensuring accurate and timely capital financial and regulatory reporting and achieving the required outcomes with time spans of 1 – 2 years.
What you’d be responsible for
You are accountable to Water Services Controller and will have the following key accountabilities (but are not limited to these):
Providing input to the Water Services Finance plans and directions, ensuring an appropriate understanding of the EUI and Water Services Finance strategy and ensure on-going effective positioning and appropriate relationships with other Senior Manager positions in Water Services Finance and in the rest of EUI.Developing, implementing and reviewing appropriate (1 - 2 year) business plan within the context of Water Services Finance business plan (including mission, vision, values, strategic positioning, operational plan and resource plan).Ensuring: Business plans and deliverables of direct report positions are aligned and integrated, appropriate (3 – 12 months) and include performance expectations and deliverable metrics.The delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics. Establishing, monitoring, measuring and reporting performance metrics. Analyzing and identifying issues impacting operational performance and establishing initiatives for continuous improvement to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely IFRS accounting and reporting of Water Services capital.The delivery of all Capital regulatory reporting requirements within the prescribed timelines in conjunction with the Capital Governance and Reporting teams.Developing, implementing and maintaining an appropriate organization design, which includes vertical and functional position alignment, clarity of accountabilities and authorities (managerial and cross functional); matching people to positions; matching tasks to positions and managerial leadership practices.Creating a strong team of professionals and/or managers of front line employees and providing appropriate context and prescribed limits for the development of employees.Supporting the successful delivery of the capital sections of the Water Services Budget and Long Term Plan through consultation with Capital Governance and Reporting, Operations, Regulatory and Senior Management.Leading the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives to capital financial and regulatory reporting process and controls to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory and other external requirements (e.g. CSox) and to ensure risks are appropriately managed.Maintaining high quality internal controls, including CSOX requirements.
What’s required to be successful
Qualifications, experience and behaviours you possess are:
Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting from a recognized post-secondary education institute. Accredited Accounting designation.Strong understanding of IFRS and Regulatory accounting practices and policies. Experience that includes:7 (or more) in a progressively responsible accounting role.5 (or more) in a supervisory capacity.Proficiency in Excel and other various database software.Familiarity and use of EPCOR financial systems inclusion Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Projects, Oracle Fixed Assets, Business Intelligence, Adaptive Insights and an understanding of interactions with related work management systems such as IVARA.Demonstrable ability to identify improvements to processes and procedures and the skill to deliver successful change.
