Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Druggist Liability, Product Liability, and Healthcare Liability programs for the organization. Responsible for identifying, assessing and mitigating liability in partnership with the third-party claims administrator and defense counsel. Delivers results based on the company’s short term and long-term strategic goals. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to provide recommendations for cost savings and risk mitigation techniques.

Job ResponsibilitiesParticipate in stewardship, strategy, claim reviews and other meetings with third party claims administrators, outside defense counsel, claim advocates and internal stakeholdersOversee the Workers’ Compensation and Liability claims programs, including settlement authority, strategy, goals, solutions, and litigation (including coordinating communication with insurers regarding mass tort handling)Assess the company’s exposures and design appropriate program structures to mitigate risk while minimizing costWork with third party claims administrator to structure comprehensive and competitively priced claims handling and mitigation programsAdvise internal stakeholders regarding risk exposures and potential outcomes regarding various claims scenarios and indemnity agreementsBuild internal partnerships to highlight risk management’s value in assisting them in their business decisionsOversee claim notification process to insurance carriers.Mentors, coaches and evaluates staff. Develops team members through orientation, training, establishing objectives, communication of rules, and constructive discipline.
