Job Summary:

 The Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy is integral to shaping and executing SUSA’s commercial strategy for our product portfolio, driving growth and profitability across key categories and channels to create sustainable competitive advantage and maximize profitability. As a key member of the Strategic Business Development Team, you will work cross-functionally across all levels of the organization to identify new growth opportunities, optimize commercial plans, and develop actionable strategies that support the company’s long-term goals.

How you will make contributions that matter...

Drive strategic growth by developing and implementing commercial strategies across key categories and channels to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share targets.Align strategic initiatives with the organization’s long-term vision and business objectives.Manage category P&L for assigned categories. Identify opportunities for strengthening the assigned category and brand P&Ls, collaborating with and influencing key stakeholders across the organization.Use key external market dynamics (consumer trends, customer needs, competitive actions, and input costs) internal capabilities, and corporate strategic objectives to identify, develop, and direct implementation of strategies that build and capitalize on competitive advantages, challenge the status quo, and advance the overall health of the business and their link to internal capabilities and strategic objectives to inform category strategy.Be a product category expert: Gather, research, synthesize, and leverage insights to support a data-driven point of view and develop recommendations for performance improvement and customer development.Go-to-Market Planning: Lead the development of go-to-market strategies for new product launches, brand positioning, and promotional campaigns. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution and alignmentSales & Channel Strategy: Partner with the sales team to define and optimize sales strategies across key channels (e.g., retail, e-commerce, foodservice). Identify opportunities to drive category growth, expand distribution, and enhance customer relationships.Pricing & Revenue Optimization: Collaborate with pricing and finance teams to develop pricing strategies that maximize profitability and competitiveness. Analyze price elasticity, promotional effectiveness, and discounting strategies to optimize revenue.Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for commercial initiatives. Regularly track progress, assess performance, and provide actionable insights to adjust strategies and drive continuous improvement.Strategic Partnerships: Working with the Sales team, identify and develop strategic partnerships with key customers and other external stakeholders to enhance market presence and drive growth. Help negotiate terms, evaluate joint business plans, and manage these key relationships.Innovation & Product Development: Support marketing and innovation teams by providing insights into consumer preferences, competitive positioning, and market gaps. Help shape the product portfolio based on market trends and customer demands.Business Case Development: Prepare and present detailed business cases for new commercial initiatives, product launches, or market expansions. Provide recommendations on the expected return on investment (ROI) and key performance metrics.Partner with key cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of commercial strategies.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the commercial organization.

You are best suited for the role if you have...

Bachelor´s degree in business administration, Marketing, Economics or related field.MBA or advanced degree preferred.6+ years of experience in strategy development, commercial operations, sales or business development roles within CPGStrong understanding of the CPG landscape, including market dynamics, consumer behavior, sales channels, and pricing strategies.Proven ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies that drive business growth and competitive advantage.Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration, working with teams such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, R&D, and Operations to implement strategic plans.Experience with pricing strategy, P&L analysis, and understanding of key commercial metrics.Experience with innovation or new product development processes in the CPG space.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with key stakeholders.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with market research tools and customer data analysis platforms (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, 84.51, Technomic, or similar).Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Customer-Centricity: Focuses on delivering value to customers and stakeholders.Results-Driven: Maintains a focus on measurable outcomes and business impact.

Salary range: $102,170 - $134,100.

Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training.
