Job Description
+ Responsible for people management including contractors and consultants
+ Support the implementation of next generation technology and process to enable enterprise data analytics on pace with emerging integrated data sources (biomarker/translational, big data, digital sources, real world data, pharmacovigilance data, clinical trial data)
+ Responsible for coaching, mentoring and performance management of direct reports. Responsible for talent development in alignment with R&D business needs
+ Leads cross-functional initiatives with matrixed teams; Connects with cross-functional leadership and enables analytics capabilities to drive data-driven operations and decision making
+ Influences the cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities to unleash the full-potential of data and analytics
+ Represents the functional area at critical governance, quality and compliance, and regulatory meetings
+ Ensures consistent analytics support through effective resource management, prioritization, and timeline management.
+ Fosters innovation and entrepreneurial culture within the team that attracts and retains top talent; Creates an environment of continuous learning
+ Ensures adherence to federal regulations and applicable local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and to functional quality standards. Stays abreast of new and/or evolving local regulations, guidelines and policies related to clinical development
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree statistics, analytics, bioinformatics, data science or equivalent field. Master’s degree preferred
+ Must have 4-6+ years of experience with enabling novel analytics capabilities across business areas with 1-2 years of experience leading a team or cross functional initiatives
+ Intermediate-level proficiency in R, Python or other statistical packages. Intermediate-level knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques
+ Intermediate proficiency with visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau or equivalent
+ Demonstrated project management skills
+ Experience with Machine Learning and other advanced analytics techniques preferred
+ Demonstrated effective communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical and technical concepts in layman’s terms
+ Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
+ Demonstrated history of successful execution in a fast-paced environment and in managing multiple priorities effectively
+ Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional leaders; Good understanding of clinical development functional areas and related processes

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
