A Senior Manager within our Disputes, Claims, & Investigations (DCI) group will work in a dynamic and fast-paced consulting environment advising clients and their legal counsel involved in litigation, investigations, or other challenging business conditions.
Primary Role:
The primary role is to manage a variety of engagements within the DCI group. Senior Managers are responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality work products, expanding existing client relationships, and cultivating new ones. Assignments include overseeing economic damages calculations and other financial analyses for litigation, as well as fraud and forensic investigations. Responsibilities often involve preparing and delivering expert reports for state and federal courts or arbitration. Senior Managers lead project teams, working under engagement leaders, and supervise Analysts, Associates, and Managers. Clients are located locally, regionally, and nationally across various industries.
Additional Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will support senior practitioners with business development and marketing activities, including proposals, presentations, articles, pitchbooks, and research. They will also engage in market-facing activities to build and maintain relationships with clients and prospects, primarily commercial litigation attorneys and in-house legal counsel.
Location:
This position is based in Chicago and requires approximately two days per week at the downtown office.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day execution of DCI projects by coordinating and executing engagement workplans with project teams, typically comprising three to six professionals, including Analysts and Associates.
Collaborate with engagement leaders to strategize engagement approaches, develop workplans, monitor daily progress, and report critical path items to leadership.
Manage document productions, including reviewing, organizing, and analyzing case documentation, testimony, and court filings.
Conduct and manage case-specific research, including topics related to financial and accounting issues, economic damages theories, and market trends, to support analyses and conclusions.
Oversee the development of engagement work product, including financial analyses, modeling, reports, and presentations, involving complex accounting, financial, statistical, and database analyses.
Manage client relationships both independently and with supervision as needed.
Mentor and support the career development of Analysts, Associates, and Managers.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Adaptable to changing client-imposed deadlines and requests.
Able to conduct and direct others in completing daily project tasks.
Capable of managing multiple engagements simultaneously.
Proficient in analyzing financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, and other financial documents.
Skilled in developing and critiquing alternative arguments and opinions.
Proficient in using Excel, SQL (preferred), and other data analysis tools for building complex financial models and scenario analyses. Proficiency with other modeling tools is a plus.
Strong writing skills, particularly in expert report writing for state and federal court.
Proven leadership abilities.

Effective in team and project management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
Open to periodic travel, which may be required depending on the project.
Education and/or Training:
Minimum of 8 years of relevant consulting experience. Experience at a professional services firm is preferred.
4-year degree in accounting, finance or economics, advanced degree a plus.
Designations such as CPA, CFA, CFE are welcome.

The range for this role considers several factors including but not limited to prior work and industry experience, education level, and unique skills. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
