The Senior Manager, Commercial Policy, is responsible for developing and governing strategic commercial policies that guide our go-to-market teams. This role focuses on creating frameworks and guidelines that ensure alignment with business objectives and market dynamics. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and enhance overall business performance.

About the Role

As Senior Manager, Commercial Policy, you will be responsible for:

Commercial Policy Development:

Design and implement comprehensive commercial policies that support strategic business goals and market positioning.

Establish guidelines and frameworks to ensure consistent application of commercial policies across go-to-market teams.

Strategic Planning and Analysis:

Conduct thorough market and data analysis to inform the development and refinement of commercial policies.

Use insights from market trends and competitive analysis to adjust and improve policy frameworks.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

Work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure commercial policies align with market strategies and business needs.

Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate the effective implementation of commercial policies.

Governance and Compliance:

Develop governance structures to ensure adherence to commercial policies and regulatory requirements.

Monitor compliance and provide guidance to teams on policy application and best practices.

Provide approval and escalation path for commercial exceptions

Policy communication and training:

Partner with Sales enablement and segment teams to ensure appropriate communication and training plan for commercial policies

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Track the effectiveness of commercial policies and provide insights to senior management.

Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on policy performance and strategic initiatives.

About You

To be considered for the role of Senior Manager, Commercial Policy, you will be have:

Strategic Thinking: Ability to align policies with business objectives & market dynamics.

Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of deal negotiation dynamics and how policies impact customer relationships and the sales process.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work in a matrix environment, ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders

Policy Development: Experience in creating and enforcing governance structures.

Strong written and verbal Communication Skills

Analytical skills: ability to analyze data and spot trends and determine necessary policy enhancements.

Educational Background: Bachelor Degree completed is mandatory and MBA/Post Graduation is desirable;

Experience: 7+ years in commercial strategy, commercial policy, or commercial excellence within the B2B software industry or similar sectors. Previous experience working in Technology Industry is highly desirable;
