Senior Manager, Content Creator and Writer

About the role

The Senior Content Creator and Writer is an integral member of the Global Corporate Communications team. This colleague is responsible for developing and writing content for AIG’s external digital platforms, specifically AIG.com and the company’s global social media channels. They will contribute regularly to AIG’s editorial calendar. This role reports to the Digital Managing Editor and consults across the global marketing, communications and North American and International business. The successful candidate will be a polished writer and expert storyteller, and have a deep understanding of the role content plays within the wider communications mix. This is a performance-driven role best suited for those able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Write long-form and short-form content about important company matters, business initiatives and trends for AIG digital channels including  www.aig.com and social media sites.

Proactively develop interesting story and content ideas that will resonate across AIG’s global stakeholders and external audiences.

Effectively collaborate with video, creative, and marketing and communications team leaders to produce and execute content on deadline.

Manage content performance. Track trends in sentiment and moderate comments.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience, including at media organizations and/or in a corporate setting. (Experience in the financial services or insurance sectors a plus).

Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.

Strong business acumen and financial literacy. Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise and compelling content.

Excellent project management skills with a high degree of focus on the details.

Experience collaborating effectively with senior business leaders.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

A team player who is highly collaborative and willing to help where needed across teams and projects.

Demonstrates excellent judgement and has an ownership mentality.

Calm under pressure and solution focused when unforeseen circumstances arise. 

Proficiency with project management systems and content management and publishing systems a plus.

For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $92,000-$102,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
