Visa’s Asia Pacific Corporate Strategy team based in Singapore plays a key role in shaping Visa’s long-term strategy in the region and solving for regional and country-specific opportunities and challenges, in partnership with executives and business leaders across Visa’s organization. Recent initiatives have addressed topics such as market strategy, product strategy, multi-year planning, and organic / inorganic growth opportunities across the region. The team is also responsible for developing thought leadership on emerging trends in payments industry.
What a Senior Manager in Corporate Strategy does at Visa:
The Senior Manager role in the Asia Pacific (AP) Corporate Strategy Team plays a key role in supporting delivery of key strategic initiatives across the region. The individual will support Visa’s businesses across functions and geographies – in assessing multifaceted implications for Visa of trends/developments and developing strategic recommendations in alignment with the regional and global priorities. This role will also be monitoring of competitive developments across the region/globally.
In this role, you are expected to:
Leads workstreams within AP strategy projects and engagementsTakes a more strategic, holistic approach to addressing specific problem statements or components of a project and that the approach should be aligned with overall project objectivesFor owned workstreams, responsible for identifying the problem statement, structuring analytical approach (key questions to be addressed and analysis & research required to answer those questions)Structures and executes own workstream with modest upfront and periodic direction / input from managerEffectively and highly efficiently manages own time as well as workplans for own workstream; able to sync up timelines / sequencing with rest of the project teamWith moderate support of manager, drafts storylines, structures documents and creates end-to-end presentations on strategic recommendationsBeing a sought after thought leader owner on select business topics within larger / complex cross-functional projectsAble to assess multifaceted implications for Visa of trends and developments and makes sound recommendations; ensures strategic and financial soundness and alignment for any recommendationsCommunicates and presents recommendations and supporting rationale to mid-to-senior management in a clear, concise, and impactful wayAble to independently manage meetings with working team and cross functional peerLeads various ad-hoc internal deliverables as assigned (e.g., monitoring of payment trends, sharing data / insights with other teams within Visa, etc.)Why this is important to Visa:

10 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD8 to10 years of experience in management consulting or internal strategy role in a global company.Experience in the payments industry highly preferred.Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, with ability to participate in complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders at all levels.Ability to develop content independently and prioritize deliverables and projects to meet timelines efficiently and ability to adapt to changes in priorities quickly. Ability to independently lead workstreams within large and complex projects or smaller scale projects.Superior analytical and problem-solving skills and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze sophisticated financial modeling.Strong strategic acumen with demonstrated intellectual curiosity.Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.Complete team player, able to work across cultures, upholds and promotes highest ethical standards and mutual respect in the workplace.Strong project management skills, able to plan for timelines and milestones for cross-functional teams.
