Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Cloud Data Modeling Lead  manages and/or leads a team of technology Data Analysts / Data Specialists responsible for the build, design, development, testing, execution, and quality assurance of Data / Information Management solutions ensuring effective integration and processes are in place across the enterprise. Role may also be a technical expert within a specialized data management field responsible for providing team leadership and building out Data / Information Management organizational capabilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

CUSTOMER

Build, oversee and manage diverse team of data modelers and related operations and set team goals / objectives in alignment with overall Business strategiesWork with our product owners, analysts, data architects, ETL developers, and other members of the Data modeling team to develop, maintain and enhance data models and objects associated with enterprise data warehouse(s).Provide guidance related to security, governance, and best practices as it relates to databases and data modeling.Expertise in relational, dimensional and data vault 2.0 data modeling techniques.Able to work independently with minimal direction to meet commitments.Establish and enforce enterprise data modeling principles and best practices.Prior exposure to and experience working in Agile methodology.

DEPTH & SCOPE:

Deep understanding and hands-on experience implementing a Big Data stack (e.g. Hadoop)Complete understanding and expertise with Data warehouse technologies including Database Management Systems, BI Tools and ETLsStrong knowledge of when to use traditional vs big data solutionsExtensive experience in leading and designing complex data-intensive applicationsExtensive functional and technical knowledge of advanced analytics processes (building automated processes for data acquisition and analysis), systems and methods for prevention, detection and management of financial crimesSenior role requiring significant people management experience and specialized knowledge of advanced data analytics within the context of a global bank

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Undergraduate degree or Technical CertificateGraduate degree, preferred10+ years related experience

Experience with dimensional, relational and data vault 2.0 data modeling techniques experience implementing physical data models.Experience implementing database objects, deployment activitiesExperience with PowerDesigner modeling tool or other data modeling toolsStrong knowledge of data modeling principles and best practicesStrong communication skills; experience communicating with data engineers, data analysts, business users, and management to explain technical and functional conceptsUnderstanding of enterprise data architecture principlesStrong data analysis and SQL writing skills; including query performance tuningExperience writing and executing complex SQLDemonstrated success working in a team-based, agile environmentStrong facilitation and negotiation skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentNeed to be team player, servant leader mindsetProficiency in SQL and other data querying languages.
