This position is based in our Irvine, California Corporate Headquarters on a hybrid schedule.

Dynamic and results-oriented Senior Manager, Data Engineering with a proven track record of overseeing end-to-end platform operations. Adept at designing and optimizing scalable, high-performance systems to support business objectives. Seeking a challenging role to leverage expertise in platform management, infrastructure optimization, and team leadership.

Responsible in steering investments made in our data infrastructure to enable new or enhance existing capabilities.  Strong collaboration with Cross IT teams, engineering, analytics, Data Warehouse, and product to achieve our shared goals and the desire to drive our emerging data products forward to delight our internal and external consumers. 

Professional Experience

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the organization's platform infrastructure.Oversee platform operations, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define platform requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.Manage a team of platform engineers, providing leadership, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Implement best practices for platform security, compliance, and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute a strategic vision for the data warehousing platform aligned with organizational goals and business objectives.Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the data warehousing platform remains innovative and competitive.


Team Management:

Lead and manage a team of data engineers, architects, and administrators.Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Data Warehousing Infrastructure:

Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data warehousing infrastructure to support business intelligence and analytics needs.Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of the data warehousing platform.

Data Modeling and Architecture:

Collaborate with Data Architects to design and implement effective data models within the data warehousing environment.Ensure that data warehouse architecture aligns with best practices and supports efficient data retrieval.

Platform Optimization:

Implement and monitor data warehousing best practices for performance optimization and query efficiency.Collaborate with IT and business teams to identify opportunities for platform enhancements and optimizations.

Data Governance:

Establish and enforce data governance practices within the data warehousing platform.Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure the data warehousing platform meets their analytical needs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Intelligence, Analytics, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of data processes.

Vendor Management:

Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with vendors providing tools and technologies related to data warehousing.Negotiate contracts and ensure vendor solutions align with organizational requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of data warehousing processes, configurations, and best practices.Provide regular reports and updates to executive leadership on the performance and strategic direction of the data warehousing platform.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.Minimum 10 years data engineering experience and minimum 5 years managing global teams.Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing large scale data architectures and warehousing platforms in a cloud environment, preferred Google Cloud.Knowledge of Google Big Query and their Data Warehousing stack (Cloud Storage, Function, Composer, and others).Strong understanding of data architecture, warehousing, and engineering platforms best practices.Experience presenting and comfortability in front of executive leadership teams.Experience building data driven solutions, marketing technology solutions, advertising and consumer solutions.Must be proficient at SQL, MYSQL to be able to navigate data environments for investigation and analysis purposes.Experience with technologies such as SQL, Python, ETL processes, and data integration tools.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Certification in data management or related field is desirableAbility to work off hours for global needs.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $144,400.00 - $245,500.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
