The Senior Manager, Data Intelligence, Contributes to the overall success of the Sales Intelligence team in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
 

The Sr. Manager, Data Intelligence is accountable for driving the development and optimization of the data strategy and delivering scalable business solutions using Analytics to internal and external teams. 
 

This is an 18 Month Contract

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Leads, oversees the end-to-end implementation, maintenance, and governance of internal database for Sales Intelligence team members. Create ETL data solutions for all stakeholders in the team. 

Partners with business and internal teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models to support all areas.

Develops and implements thorough quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure strategies implemented are successfully delivered to customers without error.

Responsible for officer level, branch level reporting datasets and KPIs. 

Oversees and governs the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimization of data query performance via best practices

Creates thorough documentation and metadata to share across teams and stakeholders.

Drives self-serve capability and culture in the business

Creates and enhances data sets on timely basis to respective stakeholders

Works closely with data warehouse and IT teams to manage development of analytical infrastructure/ data model to provide sound reporting and analytics, ensuring all systems and models have accurate information and are available to business users.

Establishes and maintains advance analytics data models and maintains roadmap to allow for scalability, increased efficiencies, and drives value for all stakeholders

Drives predictive modelling and advanced analytics initiatives that influence, monitor and impact strategic decisions. 

Creates and leverages new data-driven models to optimize business processes

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

Degree in STEM 

7+ years of experience in Analytics

Strong knowledge and proficiency with building models and data infrastructures - data mining, data profiling, modeling, cleansing, enriching as well as extract, transform, load (ETL) solutions and scripting

Experience in Cloud technologies and platforms (BigQuery, etc.)

Strong experience in SQL, SAS Certified, Experience in Python/R are valuable as well.

Experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Strong communication skills with team members, clients, vendors and senior management

Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management, people management and relationship building skills

Previous business line and banking experience is highly desirable
