Join Walmart international’s supply chain team where you'll drive impactful improvements by leveraging your strategic & analytical expertise. In this role, you'll focus on network design optimization—developing and implementing strategies that reduce costs and elevate service levels across our supply chain in the international markets. The work includes solving problems such as Ambient and Perishable inbound network design, middle mile network flow optimization, last mile delivery and returns design, inventory placement, transportation, and monetization strategies to provide Walmart a competitive edge in the medium to long term. You'll work at the intersection of data science, optimization, and supply chain management.
Network Optimization: Develop, test, and implement optimization models to redesign and enhance our supply chain network. Utilize operations research techniques to analyze network performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved service levels.
Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategies that streamline processes, reduce overhead, and drive operational excellence.
Innovation & Technology Exploration: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies. Experiment with innovative approaches to further reduce costs and unlock new value in our supply chain operations.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze large and complex data sets to uncover insights, support decision-making, and validate optimization strategies with robust quantitative evidence.
Stakeholder Communication: Clearly articulate analytical findings and actionable recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Travel Commitment: Expect international travel up to 20% of the time to engage with regional teams, participate in on-site reviews, and collaborate with international markets.
What You'll Bring:
Educational Background: Masters in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Technical Expertise:
Minimum 5+ years of solid understanding of operations research principles and techniques, including linear programming.
Familiarity with optimization tools and libraries (e.g., CPlex, Gurobi, or similar).
Basic machine learning & simulation proficiency—enough to integrate simple predictive or simulation models that complement optimization work.
Supply Chain Insight: Practical knowledge of supply chain operations, enabling you to contextualize optimization challenges within broader logistics and distribution frameworks.
Programming & Data Skills:
Proficiency in Python for model development and data analysis.
Experience with data querying (e.g., SQL) and managing large datasets.
Communication & Collaboration: Ability to translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations, and effectively collaborate with diverse teams across the organization.
Adaptability & Innovation: A forward-thinking mindset, with a passion for exploring new technologies and methodologies to continuously improve processes.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
