Introduction to the team

The Traveler Business Team has a mission to deliver the most convenient, rewarding, and memorable ways for people to travel and explore the world. This division has responsibility to build and drive the growth of our global consumer business across our Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, and Portfolio brands, and across all our lines of businesses including Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Air, Car, Packages, and Insurtech. 

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Expedia’s Hotel line of business to join the Expedia & Portfolio team at Expedia Group. This role will be responsible for identifying direction to drive growth and optimize business results across Brand Expedia’s Hotel business. You will monitor key business metrics, identify opportunities for improvements, recommend investment priorities and work across functional teams to action on opportunities to grow the business and optimize margin. This role will report to the Senior Director, Hotels for Brand Expedia.

In this role, you will:

Monitor and drive performance focused on traffic and conversion funnel for the Hotel Business to deliver the annual financial plan for Expedia

Identify high impact initiatives, evaluate trade-offs, and lead/partner with cross functional teams across Expedia Group to enable execution for successful outcomes, e.g., optimizing every step of the funnel to drive conversion growth, partner with Product Analytics and Product and Tech teams to address issues based on opportunities uncovered, partner with Marketing channel teams to drive more traffic in an efficient manner, and partner with Supply to ensure quality is in place for key detinations especially for the US point of sale etc.

Be a key stakeholder for the Hotel line of business’ financial performance and KPIs

Be a key member of an engaged and inspired team which monitors business performance, identifies risks and opportunities, and drives cross-functional working groups to deliver key KPIs

Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Analytics, Product & Tech, Supply, Analytics and Finance teams to build forward looking annual / 3-year strategic and operational plans

Experience and qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (Business Management, Economics, Finance) or MBA preferred; or equivalent in related professional experience

8+ years of business management, B2C ecommerce, B2C strategy, or P&L management experience

Curious and passionate, with a desire to continuously learn more, which you use to understand business operations and the levers that drive profitable growth 

Ability to synthesize complex problems with excellent written and oral communication skills

Strength in using data-driven insights and frameworks to enable actionable decision making 

Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams, influence and align stakeholders to achieve successful business outcomes without direct organizational authority

Motivated by goal achievement and continuous improvement, with enthusiasm and strive to motivate your team and the wider organization
