Senior Manager, Facilities & Operations
Job Description:

This role reports to the Director, Facilities and Operations, in this role your primary responsibility is ensuring a consistent delivery of outsourced facility management services, in support of our broader Real Estate objective of ensuring that Fidelity business units, associates and visitors in the assigned region receive a consistent, high level of service.

In partnership with our outsourced facility management alliance partner, the Senior Manager, Facilities and Operations will oversee all operational aspects of circa 2 million square feet of office space, across 5 properties in Boston, Massachusetts. To do this the Senior Manager will collaborate with many groups inside and outside of Real Estate, which requires a strong focus on collaboration, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

This Senior Manager will strive for the highest degree of operational excellence; workspace health & safety; business resiliency through documented process, procedures, policies and playbooks, the provision of our facilities to the highest level of working order, ensuring that they provide a safe, clean, comfortable, and productive work environment for our business units, associates, and visitors.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in business, facilities management, engineering, or other related area is preferred. 5+ years of real estate management experience with increasing responsibility is preferred. Experience of vendor management, performance management, governance, compliance, and risk management. Ability to lead operational initiatives that get results, from initiation through implementation. Experience within the Financial Services industry is also valued. Physical requirements include walking through buildings and occasionally performing light-duty activity such as moving IT (Informational Technology) equipment. May need to work occasional extended hours (morning or evening) to support projects or activities. Demonstrated success in property management, asset and facilities management, vendor management, real estate finance/accounting, event & incident management, project management. Ability to influence decision-making through written and verbal communications grounded in data and insights. Have a consumer-first mentality with ability to identify and deliver against unmet needs. Excellent communication and social skills and a proficiency to influence others and forming relationships. Exhibit confidence in communication with senior leaders, with a professional presence and communications Demonstrate integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, and work ethic. Detail oriented with outstanding prioritization skills. Highly inspired with a can-do approach and ability to problem-solve through a collaborative, unselfish, and team-oriented approach. You are proficient with Work Order Systems and Microsoft Office suite. The Value You Deliver Ensuring outsourced resources provide quality property and facility management services, per their contractual agreement, with a focus on risk mitigation and operational excellence. Proactively find opportunities to improve the onsite work environment, advancing workspace feedback, tracking issues for resolution, and measuring the success of engagement efforts. Partnering across the Real Estate teams to align on priorities, develop and implement regional programs and projects. Ensure the local site is functioning to quality standards and making recommendations when repairs or updates are required. Know and be able to implement building safety plans. Understand, recommend, and apply standard methodologies to optimize associate and visitor experience, exercising discretion in guiding associate behaviors.
