This is an opportunity to join RBC’s Sustainability and Impact team as Senior Manager, Finance Management. This role will drive the financial operations for RBC’s global community investment portfolio and report on performance to an executive audience.  

What will you do?

Drive the planning, forecasting, reporting, and detailed analysis of a $200MM+ per year global budget.Lead the Community Investment (CI) fiscal reporting including providing accurate figures for internal budget tracking reports to the RBC Foundation Board and donation teams across RBC’s core markets (Canada, US and UK), plus annual external disclosure reports such as the ESG report, Public Accountability Statement and industry surveys.Provide effective performance management to ensure annual targets are achieved by deriving insights and provide strategic counsel to the portfolio leads across Head Office, Local teams and Line of Business teams in RBC’s core markets (Canada, US and UK).Perform monthly reconciliation of all community investment (CI) cash spend, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial transactions flowing through RBC’s core markets (Canada, US and UK).Lead the preparation and submission of detailed community investment figures, reports and back-up support for tax and audit (for both internal audit and external audit engagements).Manage the external audit process for the RBC Foundation, RBC Foundation USA and oversight of internal controls supporting regulatory requirements.Improve financial operating processes, in particular: identify and imbed continuous improvement in reporting processes & tools, the systems’ operating fiscal management processes and payment processing flows with Accounts Payable.Review and ensure high quality of financial data entered in the donation management system (SmartSimple), ensuring key data fields are complete, accurate and adhering to best practices.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have 

7+ years of experience in accounting/finance and/or performance management.Accounting / Finance designation preferred, such as CPA.Self-starter who can drive impact, manage numerous initiatives at once, and roll-up sleeves to execute with minimal supervision.  Strategic, critical, and analytical thinker with strong attention to detail.Proven relationship-building skills and story-telling skills; leading with impact and influence when engaging senior stakeholders.Experience leading the development of fiscal plans and operating models.

Nice-to-have

Experience working in a large, matrix organization.Experience in the charitable sector or working within the Sustainability & Impact team on the corporate side.SAP / DHR / RBC Finance systems experience preferred.Knowledge of SmartSimple and Benevity software management systems preferred.
