Senior Manager, Financial Systems - FP&A
Akima is seeking a **Senior Manager, Financial Systems** to join our Financial Planning & Analysis **(** **FP&A)** team on a **hybrid basis** at our headquarters in **Herndon, VA** . This critical role will support the **corporate budgeting and forecasting process** under the direction of the **Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)** for Akima, LLC and its **50+ subsidiaries** . The **Senior Manager** will be responsible for **maintaining financial system controls** to support **annual budgeting, cost pool setup and maintenance, and monthly financial reporting** . This role offers a **unique opportunity for exposure to senior leadership** and a **comprehensive understanding of Akima’s financial data model** , from **financial structure setup to end-user financial reporting deliverables.** **Responsibilities** + **Maintenance/configuration of CostPoint financial structures** (General ledger accounts, Orgs, Pool Allocations and Financial Statements). + **Creation of Cognos reports and job scheduling.** + Point person for **updating the annual budget models for direct and indirect costs, including consolidation** . + **Monthly Reconciliation of Cost pool allocations** , including comparing the SIE to the Trial Balance. + Monthly/Quarterly **Financial Reporting** to Executive Team. + Monthly Indirect cost forecasting for Akima Shared Services. + Ad hoc financial reporting for senior leadership. **Qualifications** + A successful candidate will have proven expertise with **CostPoint and Cognos** and the ability to communicate and demonstrate their technical and functional experiences relative to the best methods for reporting and analysis of financial data to many users across the enterprise + Strong knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and Cognos + Experience in the following areas: Indirect Rates, Pools and Bases, and allocation of costs from Home Office Segments and Intermediate Cost Pools + Experience forecasting and budgeting financial statements for companies, divisions, or lines of business + Has worked with large data sets, including using Power Query to merge/consolidate information + Working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and FAR + Familiarity with the federal government services market and contract structures + **Advanced Microsoft Excel skills** including the use of pivot tables and charts, VLOOKUP's, conditional statements, linking, advanced formulas, data queries and macros. + Excellent data management skills, including data mining, queries and knowledge of report writing + **This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Herndon, VA.** **Minimum Requirements** + **Education:** **Bachelor’s degree** in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred + Years of Experience: + **7 plus yrs. work experience in Financial Systems, FP&A, Project Control, or Accounting** + **5 plus yrs. experience using Cognos Analytics or Query/Report Studio** + **5 plus yrs. experience working with Deltek Costpoint Core modules.** + Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Experience working with **Power BI preferred** **Job ID** 2025-15322 **Work Type** Hybrid **Company Description** **Work Where it Matters** Akima is not just another global enterprise and federal contractor.
