Game Product Managers at Riot lead passionate teams to create and evolve products and experiences for our players. We seek to deeply understand our product’s audience and drive strategy to create value for players and for Riot. We help concept, build, and influence projects at all stages of production.
As a Sr. Manager, Game Product Management on the Teamfight Tactics team, you will be a member of the TFT Product leadership team. You will be responsible for overseeing our Major Projects initiative. You will partner with the TFT’s Game Director, TFT’s Senior Director of Product, and your development team to create and drive the product strategy that will deliver on TFT’s biggest most innovative bets. As a strategic leader, you will directly influence TFT’s ability to deliver groundbreaking experiences that keep players engaged and excited. These projects include transformative gameplay innovations, new game systems, and experimental features aimed at elevating TFT’s market position. You will partner with cross-functional teams and work closely with the engineering, delivery, and design leads to align on goals, ensure a strong player-focused strategy is in place for each major project, and set a course to achieve those goals. You will share accountability for the product outcomes of all major projects for TFT, ensuring that various projects will meet success criteria that are coherent and consistent with our shared goals and vision. This role requires engagement across all parts of the product and R&D efforts. The ideal candidate will bring broad experience in product management, strategy, research, analytics, systems design, mechanics design, monetization design, UX design, and game development.
Responsibilities:
Define and shape the strategic vision and multi-phase roadmap for TFT Major Projects, ensuring alignment with Riot's broader product goals and long-term objectives. Effectively translate desired impacts into a plan of action. Define measurable goals and translate them into product requirements that guide design and technical specifications. Drive clarity around goals, direction, and approach which allows the team at all levels to effectively make decisions and work to translate your vision into outputs and outcomes. Establish KPIs and success metrics that drive the success of major projects while also providing insights to influence team-wide strategic decisions. Monitor overall development health and progress, regularly updating stakeholders on progress, and be solution oriented when needed. Reduce ambiguity by correctly prioritizing problems to solve & opportunities to capture in in order to effectively drive impact. Regularly "see around corners" to identify sources of risky ambiguity and predict failure cases in a variety of contexts. Drive risk mitigation & validation approaches to achieve outcomes and impacts. Flexibly and appropriately utilize different tools and perspectives to develop and hone a sharp and nuanced understanding of players, their needs, and how those needs may vary by segment, guiding high-level decisions across your initiative to optimize player engagement and business impact. Lead the design and iteration of monetization systems that align with product goals and player expectations, balancing player satisfaction with revenue generation. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate monetization seamlessly into the overall gameplay experience. Develop a deep understanding of how game systems, mechanics, and creative elements influence player behavior, guiding the team to craft holistic experiences that deliver player value. Champion team health and productivity by establishing sustainable work practices optimized for efficient, impactful delivery. Shape and maintain a long-term vision for TFT Major Projects, balancing immediate release goals with sustained player engagement and growth strategies. Drive a culture of end-to-end ownership within the team, ensuring that each milestone is delivered with accountability from concept through execution and is aligned with strategic goals.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of product management experience in games, live operations, and system/feature design, with a proven track record of strategic influence and impact. 3+ years of experience in a people management role or product leadership Passion and deep familiarity with Teamfight Tactics and strategy games, with proven experience applying player-centric insights to drive product innovation. Experience shipping products with cross-functional teams, showcasing the ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to partner across multiple disciplines.Desired Qualifications:
Understanding of growth, retention, and mobile gaming strategies to create player value. Proven ability to analyze large data sets and extract actionable insights that drive decision-making. Strong analytical skills with experience in competitive analysis, using industry insights to inform product strategy and ensure TFT’s market position remains strong.
