As a Senior Manager in the BDO Industry Specialty Services practice, you will provide professional services that are sensitive to the needs and values of both nonprofit organizations and funders that support them. The Nonprofit & Grantmaker Advisory team is a growth-oriented management consulting team dedicated to building the capacity of the nonprofit sector. We partner with our nonprofit and philanthropic clients to help them attain operational excellence, ensure financial sustainability, and effectively achieve their desired impact. Our collaborative approach includes client input and involvement at each stage of an engagement.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities vary based on engagements and client needs and require an independent and multi-talented professional with solid nonprofit management expertise and a consulting mindset.
Client Service Delivery
Supports organizations in organizational transition in financial management or operations and making sound financial and operational decisions Provides senior level financial management or operations services, which may include month end reviews, audit management, budget development, financial planning, financial system implementation, and operations team support Supports client leadership teams in making strategic decisions including presenting analysis and findings and effectively communicating complicated information to a variety of audiences Assists in complying with new nonprofit financial reporting and disclosure standards Conducts fiscal infrastructure assessments and provides insight into organizational financial sustainability Oversees grant compliance and restricted funding requirements for an organization Analyzes current processes, systems, and procedures and makes recommendations to ensure best practices and keeps abreast of changing regulatory environmentsRelationship Management
Develops and maintains current and potential/new client relationships, serving as a key contact for small to mid-size nonprofit organizations Leads client engagement team through means of training, guidance, and coaching Supports client delivery teams in ad-hoc projects that support Client Service DeliveryTravels up to 10% of the time

Education
Bachelor's degree, required MBA or Master of Public Administration, preferredExperience
Twelve (12) or more years of experience in nonprofit organizations or government entities, required Twelve (12) or more years demonstrated experience in a financial management and/or operational capacity in increasingly complex organizations and roles, preferred Experience with accounting systems and nonprofit accounting principles, preferred Prior supervisory/management experience, preferredLicense(s)/Certification(s)

National Range: $145,000 - $210,000
Maryland Range: $145,000 - $210,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $145,000 - $210,000
