Primary Responsibilities

The Logistics Strategy & Systems Senior Manager will oversee and optimize cross-dock logistics operations. This role focuses on developing strategies to enhance multi-leg shipment flows, reduce costs, and improve service levels. The ideal candidate will lead process improvement initiatives, manage a team of planners, and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for logistics systems and consolidation practices. They will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost-saving synergies. Essential Functions

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement cross-dock strategies to optimize logistics operations, manage multi-leg shipments flow, reduce costs, and improve service levels.Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.Manage and mentor a team of planners fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency, productivity, and quality.Work closely with other departments, including centralized routing, DC’s, and customers, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for systems such as Manhattan Active and BI platforms regarding consolidation. Improve service levels through better planning and execution of multi-leg routing.Identify cross-functional synergies to unlock additional cost-saving opportunities. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to manage and provide guidance to a team.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent is highly desirable.Experience with Business Intelligence platforms and other transportation systems required.
