Senior Manager, M&A and Strategic Finance

About the teamThe M&A and Strategic Finance team at Zillow constitutes a high-impact, entrepreneurial function dedicated to advancing and accelerating Zillow’s strategy through acquisitions, investments, and the application of financial frameworks and analysis to the company’s long-term strategy, planning, initiatives, and execution. We work closely with company leadership, the various business divisions, and the broader finance organization to evaluate strategic opportunities, both organic and inorganic, within our existing business and through potential new businesses. About the roleAs an M&A and Strategic Finance Senior Manager, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to the identification, evaluation, and advancement of growth opportunities, both organic and inorganic, across Zillow Group’s lines of business!

Responsibilities Include:Research and recommend acquisition opportunitiesProvide financial and strategic analysis of acquisition targetsCollaborate with business leaders, finance, and legal to enable an integrated perspective on M&A transactionsAssist with all transaction phases, including sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, closing, and integrationBuild detailed, flexible long-term financial models for Zillow Group’s overall business in connection with key opportunities and initiatives, including partnershipsDevelop analysis, synthesize and analyze data, and apply frameworks to help drive business decisionsServe as partner to the Strategy & Partnerships team, in connection with the evaluation and execution of new strategies and partnership opportunitiesCollaborate with business leaders to develop strategies, evaluate business opportunities, and provide recommendations based on detailed analysis

Across this role, you will partner with the business to understand strategic priorities and future growth opportunities; help evaluate strategic questions relating to existing or prospective Zillow Group; monitor the competitive landscape and stay abreast of industry trends and developments; and lead several projects at the same time without compromising quality.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $146,300.00 - $233,700.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are4 year college degree5+ years of experience including at least 2 years in investment banking or private equity and additional experience in corporate development or strategic finance roles at technology companiesStrong three-statement financial modeling skillsDeep financial analysis skills, including the ability to apply financial concepts and frameworks to novel business situationsBroad financial acumen, including a foundation in corporate finance principles, facility with financial statement analysis, and understanding of valuation methodologiesStrong quantitative and qualitative skills, with the ability to synthesize data and information into conclusions and recommendationsExperience performing M&A transactions through the full processExcellent communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner to executivesStrong project management skills with the ability to lead several priorities simultaneouslyOwnership mentality, questioning assumptions and taking responsibility for conclusionsStrong initiative and judgment; performing in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, leading internal and external constituencies and working efficiently with cross-functional teams in a remote environmentMS Office and Google Suite skills with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Google DocsPassion for technology and/or real estate sectors
