As Sr Mgr, News Gathering Ops, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of news gathering related to the network's daily production of news content and programming. You will lead a team of assignment desk personnel and supervise the activities of reporters who are responsible for bringing each news story to life. It will be your duty to ensure that the editorial and production values of news programming meet Spectrum News’ high standards consistently. By driving viewership, growing our audience, and strengthening the brand, you will play a critical role in shaping the network's future. You are an essential part of a collaborative team that produces compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts intended to engage and connect with our local audience.

Required Qualifications
Experience: Experience as a senior or unit producer at a news station - 5+ yearsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, graduate degree preferredTechnical skills: Demonstrated news judgment, with knowledge of current local news and newsmakersSkills: Communicate effectively with all levels in the organizationAbilities: Ability to work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectivesSchedule: Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to “breaking news” and severe weather emergencies, ability to work weekends and holidaysWorking Conditions
