ABOUT THE JOB:

WillScot is looking for a dynamic Sr. Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for our many locations across North America. We are a growth organization, often by mergers and acquisitions, and it will be key for this role to lead, collaborate, and project manage newly acquired team integrations, and various payroll system, process optimization and compliance initiatives. And, of course, paying our employees accurately, timely and compliantly is our main priority! There are many internal stakeholders and partners to interact with on a regular basis within the HR function and within the broader organization to ensure the team’s success.  

This role will be based in our Phoenix, Arizona office with opportunity for a hybrid schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Manage the full cycle payroll process for North America, including payroll tax reporting, tax compliance, tax remittance and stock compensation Provide oversight and direction for the overall payroll function to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services Drive best practices and process optimization as the subject matter expert in various payroll projects including process documentation and improvements, system changes, integrations, and implementations Ensure internal and external audits and reconciliations and aligned with policies, procedures, and legal standards Guide, coach, mentor and develop payroll staff Oversee external vendors involved in payroll processing Serve as subject matter expert to support Merger & Acquisition activities; including due diligence and integration Build partnerships with internal and external payroll stakeholder to define and develop successful, scalable processes and practices Lead internal controls and documentation in accordance with SOX SKILLS + EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of cumulative experience with US hourly and salaried payroll processing in multi-state and multi-entity  5+ years of people management experience  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or relevant years of experience  Ability to travel up to 10% of the time 

Ideal candidates will also have: 

Canadian payroll experience   CPP certification  SAP payroll experience   Experience with prevailing wage  Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products  Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines  Proven experience in designing, implementing and continuously optimizing payroll processes and internal controls
