Senior Manager, Pricing Data Science

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced data professional as the Senior Manager of Pricing Architecture to join our team at NAPA Auto Parts. This role will be pivotal in establishing our pricing foundation to allow for execution of advanced pricing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science or similar field, excellent project management skills, a deep understanding of pricing, and experience leading a high-performing team. This manager will also be responsible for building processes and structures to support product-to-product relationships, establishing a product segmentation framework for pricing needs, and simplifying the current price structure. The Senior Manager will also oversee a team including a Data Scientist and Senior Analyst.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management:Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists and analysts.Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.Pricing Process and Structure Development:Build and enhance processes to support product-to-product relationships.Establish a product segmentation framework tailored to pricing needs.Simplify the current price structure, reducing complexity involving multiple list prices and discount levels.Big Data Analytics and Modeling:Oversee the development and deployment of advanced analytics and machine learning models for pricing architecture optimization.Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvements.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used for pricing analysis.Performance Monitoring and Reporting:Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor project performance and key metricsProvide regular updates and insights to senior management on project performance and their impact.Continuously refine and improve pricing models based on performance data and feedback.Innovation and Continuous Improvement:Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and pricing strategies.Identify and implement best practices and innovative approaches to enhance pricing effectiveness.Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the data science team and across the organization.Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate with IT, Category Management, Supply Chain, and Field Leadership to ensure cohesive and integrated pricing strategies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Ph.D. is a plus.5+ years of experience in data science or familiarity managing big data projects, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership roleExcellent project management skills.Strong expertise in pricing development and optimization a plus.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL. SQL required.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).Experience with cloud databases (GCP, AWS, or Azure)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.Experience in the retail or automotive industry is preferred but not required.Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence is a plus.
