Your Role at Baxter:

The Sr. Manager of Suppliers' diversity and sustainability will partner closely with global and regional Directors and categories managers to lead and execute the planning and implementation of various strategic programs and initiatives to advance suppliers' sustainability for Vantive Health. S/he will interface with global and regional business leaders at all levels and become a true advisor and business partner while developing and driving Vantive's Supplier' Diversity and Sustainability Strategy and vision. Reporting to the Director of Process & Systems, this highly visible role will also focus on strategic initiatives as we continue to transform the organization. What you'll do:
 

Supplier Diversity Development

Responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for Vantive's Supplier Diversity Program and manage all aspects of the program.

Develop relationships with diverse suppliers and promote networking relationships between suppliers and commodity buying teams to support Vantive's procurement organization goals. Work with external supplier diversity partner councils (MBE Councils, WBE Councils, Veterans Councils, Disability Councils, LGBTQ Councils) to support programs, and create opportunities for diverse suppliers to grow business and support Vantive's procurement Goals.

Lead training initiatives across all stakeholders to educate them on supplier diversity requirements, programs, and systems. Identify best industry practices in supplier diversity programs by conducting research consisting of external benchmarking, attending conferences, gaining insight from customers and key vendors.  Establishes a comprehensive internal and external outreach communication plan in support of the overall Vantive corporate vision for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Lead, develop, and manage complex enterprise commodity or category strategies as defined by Strategic Sourcing leadership. Assist with identification of existing diverse suppliers as well as introduce new diverse suppliers for commodities or categories and ensure inclusion of diverse suppliers in upcoming RFPs and a consistent approach and reporting practices.

Consults with Procurement, Supply Chain and various business leaders to ensure appropriate identification, qualification, and inclusion of diverse suppliers. Responsible for all reporting of Company's diverse supplier spend (Tier 1 and Tier 2) (Certified Minority and women-owned businesses) for all business operations and government contracts where applicable.

Develop a supplier diversity corporate policy that clearly defines Executive Management commitment and measures success. Works closely with category leads to host supplier diversity and sustainability events and coordinates event logistics and manage budget.

Supplier Sustainability

Develop a comprehensive strategy for Vantive's Supplier Sustainability Program and manage all aspects of the program. Act as an advisor to the cross-functional leadership team on the suppliers' sustainability agenda and ongoing transformation efforts.

Drive the ongoing development of Vantive supplier's sustainability strategy covering the company's suppliers full value chain. The Manager will play a key role in managing and implementing our suppliers' sustainability program, including engaging with internal and external stakeholders such as our suppliers, manufacturing plants, Environment Health & safety, business organizations, and customers.

Lead the annual suppliers' sustainability reporting process in close collaboration with the corporate communications team as well as ensure reporting to several sustainability partners.

Coordinate the planning and execution of our suppliers' sustainability projects; monitor the progress against deadlines and milestones Manage our 3rd party to survey our supply base in the following categories (Environment- Ethics, Labors & Human Rights & Sustainable procurement) Lead the effort to implement corrective actions for our supply base with no sustainability systems. Distribute, assign and ensure completion of workstream responsibilities

Represents Vantive's Procurement Sustainability team on multiple internal working groups and in external practice communities Monitor risks, actions, decisions and support workstreams in driving tasks to completion

What you'll bring

Bachelor's degree, supplier diversity & sustainability, environmental policy or a related field or Business, Finance, procurement or other business-related area.

7 years of work experience in a business setting with a focus in procurement sustainability, or related field

7 years procurement, supply chain and/or Supplier Diversity program management related experience.

Previous work experience in developing and establishing supplier diversity programs and/or organization

Ability to translate sustainability issues into goals and metrics and garner excitement and generate interest in program amongst stakeholders.

Knowledgeable in strategic sourcing and vendor management

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 - $170,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
