The Lyft Public Policy team is looking for a Product Policy Senior Manager to drive cross-functional collaboration and decision-making between public policy and Lyft’s operations and product teams. This person will be responsible for structuring how the policy team thinks about the business implications of policy stances, as well as driving the inclusion of policy priorities within Lyft’s product, operational, and other cross-functional roadmaps.
This person will be a thought leader in a fast changing landscape who is excited about the potential to have a meaningful impact on the lives of the millions of riders and drivers on our platform. The ideal candidate has a skillset at the intersection of public policy and business (operations or product), can wear multiple hats, has a proven track record of multi-stakeholder engagement, and can take initiative to drive ideas into action.
Responsibilities: Partner closely with internal teams including Policy, Product, Operations, and Legal to integrate the public policy perspective into company procedures, product pipelines, and programs; Work closely with our Product team to guide the strategic development of product solutions that proactively improve our policy position and / or comply with new regulation or commitments; Drive internal alignment and cross-company decision making around policy issues we either need to get ahead of, or react to, based on the political climate and interests of the company; Keep a pulse on upcoming business decisions, launches, etc that have policy implications, interpreting and communicating these to relevant policy teams; Develop tools for tracking and quantifying upcoming regulatory risks or opportunities, and presenting emerging trends and risks to Lyft’s leadership and relevant cross-functional teams; Set up the processes and touchpoints for policy and core business teams to work together, including working meetings and workshops. Experience: 7+ years of experience in management consulting, public policy, operations, analytics, product management and / or product policy preferred; Comfort working with complex data and using it to develop persuasive arguments with stakeholders. Highly proficient in Excel. Bonus points for SQL; Demonstrated experience in applying strong business acumen, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven, strategic decisions that align with both the policy objectives and business goals; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated executive communication experience preferred; Experience leading cross-functional working groups to achieve shared goals; Detail oriented with superior organizational skills – balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you; An MBA or other post-graduate degree is a plus, but not essential. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $164,000 - $205,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
