The position
As Senior Manager of Public Affairs and External Relations, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead and develop a team of 6-7 highly engaged professionals. Execute on our strategy for external relations, public affairs, and media handling for Novo Nordisk manufacturing facility in Kalundborg. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with national and international external stakeholders to support our business strategy. Act as a trusted representative and responsible host for company visits to Novo Nordisk in Kalundborg. Collaborate with various corporate departments, including Media Relations, Global Public Affairs, Digital, Video & Live Production, Investor Relations, and PSQIT Communication. Be an integrated and active part of the leadership of the Business Development and Strategic Communications department.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related fields. +10 years of proven experience in public affairs, external stakeholder communication, incl. media handling, or related fields. Proven experience in people leadership. Excellent journalistic writing skills and strong verbal skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders. Experience in developing and executing strategies. Knowledge of government relations. Fluent spoken and written English is a prerequisite.
About the department
The Public Affairs and External Relations team is part of the Business Development and Strategic Communications department, which is responsible for business-driven and value-adding business development and communication strategies and deliveries. The primary focus for the team is strategic business development - integrating strategic partnerships, public and government affairs, media relations, community relations, as well as branding and communication - supporting both operations and the execution of the 65 bn DKK expansion projects, currently ongoing at Novo Nordisk’s manufacturing facility in Kalundborg. In addition to the external focus, the department also includes two additional teams responsible for all internal communication, including employee communication, change management communication, leadership communication, and all internal communication processes and platforms.
