Senior Manager, Safety & Identity Support Analytics
**About the Role** This role will lead a team of managers and individual contributor analysts to design and maintain durable, scalable data analytics tools & processes for Uber’s customer support organization (Community Operations). This analytics team will enable CommOps teams across 4 global mega-regions to manage business KPIs and identify improvement opportunities across Uber’s user support processes that help to maintain platform integrity. These processes include proper handling of Safety reports, confirming Earners’ identity, and taking appropriate actions on users in order to protect the Uber platform. As the Head of Platform Safety and Actioning Data Analytics, you will apply your strategic thinking and leadership to guide the team in building useful and reliable analytics tools that ultimately drive impactful business insights. The work done by this team will enable cross functional program and operational teams to monitor business critical metrics and identify opportunities for improving user experience and organizational efficiency. You will help drive impact by being a subject matter expert Uber’s processes and data related to Safety, Customer Actioning, and Earner Identity. You will also need to develop strong partnerships with stakeholders in Global and regional Safety, Identity and Actioning business teams to understand analytic needs and share your recommendations with senior leadership about how to keep our platform safe and rebuild trust when something goes wrong. **What You’ll Do** - Drive data analysis projects and identify opportunities for improving user experience and organizational efficiency in the Safety, Identity and Actioning business areas - Provide data-driven methods to evaluate the impact of changes in product features, service models and support operations - Recommend and guide team to optimize queries, dashboards, data tables, automation pipelines, and other analytic processes - Coordinate with senior business stakeholders to decide on ongoing analytic priorities; provide prioritization guidance to team members when needed - Lead team resource planning; conduct hiring, training and mentoring of team members to facilitate team success _Note: this role will manage a globally distributed team, with direct reports in the United States, Brazil, Netherlands, and India. The majority of stakeholders for the role are in North America with additional stakeholders in other regions._ **Basic Qualifications** - 6+ years experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a similar role, with 1-2 years as an individual contributor in these areas - 2+ years experience managing a team - BA/BS/Masters in Economics, Business, Engineering, Operations Research, or other quantitative focus (or equivalent work experience) - Basic proficiency with SQL queries - Knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker Studio, Excel / Google Sheets or similar tools) - Experience with Python / R - Experience in communicating with and presenting to senior leaders - Comfort in working with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment - Exceptional business acumen and experience leading high visibility projects and influencing others in a cross-functional team environment **Preferred Qualifications** - 1 year of experience managing managers - MBA or other relevant Grad degree - Excellent Communication skills For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year.
