Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Senior Manager, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to drive constant enhancement in Freshworks’ finance function, to support and enable the Company’s growth.

The role is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of Freshworks’ quarterly and annual filings. It includes oversight and participation in various planning, drafting and other activities to facilitate the efficient completion of those filings. Additionally, this role will also be responsible for providing technical accounting analysis of significant or unusual transactions, or recently issued accounting updates. This role will report to the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, and interacts regularly with external auditors, Legal and Investor Relations, with routine exposure to the Corporate Controller, General Counsel, and CFO.

In this role you will:

Lead the SEC reporting process including preparation and review of the Form 10-K, Form 10-Q and other SEC filings, as well as related XBRL requirements with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvementManage the preparation and review of the earnings release, financial tables, external presentations, statement of cash flows, and other quarterly reporting requirementsManage the flow of information and supporting documentation(s) from various parts of the company to ensure accurate and timely reporting including collaborating with other departments;Maintain an awareness of Company products, services and the related regulatory environment to effectively manage and comply with all regulatory reporting requirements and disclosuresDevelop an in-depth understanding and analysis of significant transactions to assess their impact for SEC disclosure purposes.Serve as the subject matter expert and lead the implementation and documentation of new accounting technical standards and SEC regulationsProvide accounting guidance and/or respond to inquiries for all corporate transactions and initiatives, which will include collaboration with Treasury, Investor Relations, Tax, Legal and other departmentsPrepare technical accounting research, maintenance and documentation of new policies and procedures.

Please note this is a hybrid role with onsite expectations of 3x/ week (Tue - Thur) from our San Mateo office. 

Review complex journal entries and reconciliations, including equity transactionsAssist in providing support for CD&A, executive compensation, etc. for proxy statement and working with our Legal Team to finalize and file the proxy statement.Monitor the development and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules being deliberated by the SEC, US GAAP, PCAOB, or other regulations.Assist with establishment, documentation, and maintenance of company accounting policies.Assist with month-end close and financial statement review.Assist external auditors and other adhoc projects including continuing improvements and enhancements

QualificationsMinimum of 8+ years of relevant work experience, including Big 4 public accounting experience and SEC reporting experience with a publicly-traded companyStrong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting and reporting requirementsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills with a forward-looking focusStrong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team environment working with othersExcellent time-management and organizational skills with experience in working toward tight deadlinesExperience with SOX 404 and internal control over financial reportingExperience with Workiva (formerly Webfilings) and XBRLDemonstrated professional commitment, initiative, accountability and ownership of assignmentsComfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adept at handling changeAbility to effectively facilitate and present in group meetings

Additional Information

California Pay Range: The annual base salary range for this position is between $153,120 - $248,800 

Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level.Bonus/equity may be available
