About the Role
The Senior Category Manager, Software Licensing will represent the Global Software Licensing team and manage multiple Categories for Embedded Software, Engineering Services, Trademarks and Patents. This role naturally brings high visibility within the company and challenging environment by negotiating with larger, well know tech-companies. This rapidly growing area requires a balanced focus on product, cost structure, and market intelligence for advanced software and new emerging technologies such as System Platforms, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS), Telematics, Vehicle-to-X (V2X). This role will manage global licensing supply base including contracts, commercial/pricing, terms and condition, innovation and risk mitigation. The successful candidate will develop and execute category strategies and align them with HARMAN business units, Product Development, Engineering, and Legal.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Legal, Computer Science, Engineering, or Supply ChainMinimum of 8+ years of previous work experience in commercial software licensing is a mustExperienced with software, online services and patents, automotive supply-chains, and requirementsCapability to design software sourcing processesStrong negotiation and relationship building skills.Ability to translate complex technical requirements into compelling business recommendationsPassion for new technologies, software and connected servicesAbility to negotiate contract terms of license agreementsWhat is Nice to Have
