As a Senior Manager Store Concepts – Art & Editorial, you will directly contribute to Starbucks success by managing and developing concepts teams, strategy, and directing creative development of complex projects, innovative environments, solutions, systems and programs that enhance brand experience. This includes contributing to innovation projects to help evolve our brand and support our existing portfolio and new store growth. Your primary mission is to participate in the ideation, creation and collaboration of design strategy and tactical execution. You will be working within an always evolving, design focused brand, which continues to invest deeply in positive partner and customer connections.
As a Senior Manager Store Concepts, you will...
Apply high-caliber, holistic, and original design thinking, creative strategy and other multi-disciplinary skills to manage, lead and deliver on innovative store design environments, systems, tools and strategies. Lead team to influence and reinforce the Starbucks physical and visual brand expression through all project types in our stores. Lead team to prioritize, plan and deliver concept design solutions that elevate the partner and customer experience. Integrate, implement and inform from industry knowledge, trends, design innovation, new skills, continuing education and cultural insights to inform and contribute to all projects, Concepts and cross-functional teams. Manage through ambiguity, prioritizing current and future business needs to deliver on Concepts goals and priorities; leading and coaching teams to do the same. Regularly engage in purposeful development conversations that generate insight and drive performance Champion change and actively guides partners through it Develop talent for the organization and is an advocate for all partners seeking growth opportunities Synthesize and refine cross-functional knowledge of the Starbucks enterprise to deliver relevant and scalable design programs and standards. Coaches team to do the same. Lead and is responsible for the end-to-end store concept design process and program delivery from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Proactively build collaborative relationships with broad cross-functional teams, peers, key stakeholders, and consultants, understanding their objectives and desired outcomes. Communicate and influence across enterprise and to executive leadership via visuals, writing, and spoken presentations. Build a diverse and inclusive team to maximize individuals’ strengths and drive innovation Identify efficiencies and removes barriers to enable the team to achieve goalsWe’d love to hear from people with:
Design excellence and experience within art for retail, hospitality, or restaurant environments, working with design agencies and/or development organizations. (10 years min.) Demonstrated expertise in developing art strategy and direction. Direct experience in developing high quality internal and external publications. Individual and team led contribution to design programs and projects (7-10 years) Management experience with decision-making authority and accountability, overseeing direct reports and managing expenses. (7-10 years) Demonstrated expertise with verbal communication and visual presentation of high-quality design. Ability to execute multiple design projects under tight deadlines Ability to communicate design with hand sketches and drawing Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop Bachelor's degree in design or related design field from an accredited educational institution (Master’s a plus)Join us and be part of something bigger.
