Senior Manager, Sustainable Procurement

This newly created role will support the strategy development, execution and leadership requirements to drive progress in BMO's Sustainable Procurement efforts, focused on both environmental (climate action) and social (human rights) aspects of our procurement activities and supply chain.

This role works across BMO to deliver specific project/program results in alignment with overall group goals including lines of business (LOBs) and Corporate Areas across the enterprise, BMO's Sustainability Office and related governance and risk areas as well as provides subject matter expertise and advice related to the Procurement area of specialization.

Oversees the end-to-end employee experience related to Procurement program / process within service level agreements and standards.

Acts as the day-to-day subject matter expert for the Procurement program / process and provides advice/support across Procurement as required to meet program run and build requirements.

Provides strategic input into business decisions on the Procurement programs / processes as a trusted advisor.

Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group and Procurement programs / processes.

Leads the execution of Procurement program / process; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.

Conducts independent analysis to resolve strategic issues.

Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies and for internal/external stakeholders.

Participates / leads in the design, development, implementation, and management of core processes.

Develops and manages comprehensive information management systems; designs and/or leads initiatives to improve processes, analysis and reporting.

Performs periodic reviews of the program and understands industry trends, analyzing the impact and effectiveness of the program, providing insights, making recommendations for enhancements and executing changes as required.

Facilitates the ongoing education, communication and awareness of the Procurement program / process, including policy, principles and standards for various stakeholder groups to ensure standardized and consistent application and implementation enterprise wide.

Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.

Monitors and tracks Procurement program / process performance, and addresses any issues. Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.

Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

Ensures alignment between stakeholders.

Manages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals

Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.

Performs quality reviews to confirm compliance with standards and identifies gaps or issues.

Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.

Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – In-depth/Expert.

Knowledge related to operations specialties – Expert.

Knowledge of the business/group processes/procedures– Expert.

Knowledge of applicable risk and regulatory requirements and the impact on the business/group – Expert.

Project management/program management skills – In-depth.

Attention to detail with a focus on execution.

Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.

Salary:

$84,000.00 - $156,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
