Senior Manager, Systems Engineering
Job Title: Senior Manager, Engineering Management Job Code: 19734 Job Location: Anaheim, CA (Vermont Ave) Schedule: 4/10 Job Description: L3Harris is looking for candidates for the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering, who is responsible for the overall functional management and engineering technical expertise of the engineering specialty group with the engineering organization of our Range & Test Solutions (RTS) business in Anaheim, CA (IEC). A System Engineering Senior Manager manages experienced professionals, lower-level supervisors, or managers. Often leads one or more teams or a department. Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. Develops or champions new concepts or technologies. Manages the implementation of functional strategies and recommends operational plans that directly impact the short- to mid-term function or business area results. Requires broad management and cross-functional leadership knowledge and mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area or broad expertise across multiple related job areas. Essential Functions: + Provides overall hands-on technical expertise, guidance, and functional management in systems engineering of RTS programs + Hands-on expert Systems Engineering tasking on programs. + Ensures a cohesive team and trust within the Systems Engineering Organization. + Manages budgets and forecasts manpower obligations/needs. + Ensures effective staffing of all programs with assigned Systems Engineering scope. + Communicates within and outside own function to explain and gains cooperation on policies and practices. + Makes substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions. + Plans and establishes goals and objectives for Systems Engineering with direct impact on the short-term and long-term operational results. + Leads, directs, coaches, and reviews the work of Systems Engineering personnel to accomplish near-term and long-term operational plans and results. + Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for Systems Engineering group. + Works under consultative direction against annual goals and objectives to manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization. + Maintains outstanding communication with higher management and with the employees in the organization. + Meets all programmatic and administrative suspense. + Collaborate with other business areas to execute programs and business development. + Potential travel up to 25% of the time. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience + 12 years experience: management and leading cross-department project teams or manage across the function, system integration, flight test / mission support, expertise across multiple related job areas: Telemetry, radar, acoustics, satellite communication, data acquisition. + Availability to occasionally travel (~25%), availability to occasionally work extended hours + The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance at the Top-Secret Level. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Preferred Additional Skills: + Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) to all levels of personnel experience. + Experience with Navy SSP FBM program and program specific systems. + Experience in IEC RTS engineering programs and product lines. + Proficient in IEC tools and processes. + Active DoD SECRET clearance. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $150,000 - $278,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
