Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 9 is seeking an experienced technical manager to lead the 200mm semiconductor technology development epitaxy team. The core responsibilities of this team is GaN on silicon epitaxial process development to support highly competitive device and technology offerings. The breadth of responsibility spans from research and development to customer engagement and production ramp. The ideal candidate has management experience and can demonstrate technical understanding and leadership in GaN on silicon epitaxy, equipment, characterization, and the most common device applications. This team of epitaxy engineers will have a secondary responsibility of working with the existing manufacturing SiGe epitaxy engineers to support development of SiGe epitaxy processes for new technology offerings.

Essential Responsibilities:

Ensures that all new technologies and features meet a standardized set of quality expectations. Typically performs one or more of the following in capacity of either an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently), or as a manager:

Collaborate closely with technology development device engineer, process integration, and program management teams to ensure proper resource

allocations and assignments to meet technology development milestones and meet performance, reliability, yield, and cost objectives.

Work closely with production teams (Operations, Industrial Engineering, Mfg engineering, etc...) to meet development goals while simultaneously meeting production goals and quality processes.

Collaborate with various engineering teams outside of the development and manufacturing organizations (e.g., fab in-line test, failure analysis, unit module process, fab logistics and flow teams, and research organizations, to facilitate and achieve program success.

Develop strong and in depth understanding of Fab 9 process capabilities, unique processes, and the market as part of improving Fab 9 load and profitability.

Develop, train, and mentor Engineers and Engineering Technicians, including recruiting, interviewing and on boarding new engineers and technicians.

Ensures that all new technologies and features meet a standardized set of quality and financial expectations through management of customer, supplier, manufacturing and/or new technology quality, and recourses.

Other Responsibilities:

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

PHD's/Master Degree with 10+ years of working experience in relevant field. Degree must be in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or other relevant engineering physical science discipline.

Extensive experience in GaN on Si epitaxy equipment, characterization, and devices.

Technical leadership experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written

Fluency in English Language – written & verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Results oriented and focused on quality of work

Excellent structured problem solving and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, clients, as well as internal and external partners.

Strong presentation and technical writing skills

Self-starter and highly motivated to succeed in a fast-paced and challenging professional environment

Strong background in MOCVD process chemistry, device physics, semiconductor processing, and device characterization.

Expected Salary Range

$131,900.00 - $241,500.00
