Job Description

Calling all thought leaders and change agents!  Come join a rockstar group of technologists as we embark on an evolution of our strategy, planning and execution function in US Technology. 

The Senior Manager, Vendor Relationship Manager is critical to the day-to-day operations and strategic planning of US Technology – representing over 13K US restaurants and driving $40+ billion in annual sales.  You will execute annual planning, budgeting & supplier approaches, functional goals and KPI governance as well as resource management.  Additionally, you will join forces with the US Technology PMO and Communications leaders – to round out the heartbeat of our newly branded team - Operations Excellence.

New thinking is not only welcomed but essential.  You will support the delivery of strategic business analysis, strategy development and recommendations in support of driving value to the broader McDonald’s system through the lens of technology.

Role Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

Mature the US Technology operating model, in support of delivering McDonald’s technology objectives in partnership with global, market and operator stakeholders.Drive annual planning activities for US Technology that propel the McDonald’s USA strategic targets as well as link to McDonald’s Global Technology strategic ambition.Create approach to develop, manage and monitor US Technology targets with clear, data-based KPIs.  Drive leadership discussions to develop each year. Collaborate with leadership to ensure the scope, goals, and deliverables meet business commitments.  Highlight progress wins + areas of concern.Define a consistent way of developing metrics and tracking business value of incoming work in partnership with the US Tech PMO lead.Lead special projects that impact the entire organization and/or key business-unit partner on an as needed basisEnsure that lessons learned are infused into program planning & execution so that US Technology continuously evolves in process.

Finance & Budget

Deeply understand financial approach and activities related to US Technology including, but not limited to, staffing & resourcing costs, partner fees, owner operator costs & chargeback modelingPartner with US Technology senior leaders so that all aligned and agreed upon work is appropriately funded; learn the financial planning process for the Function and how value is tracked.

Resourcing & Supplier Strategy

Define & manage partner strategy for US Technology, closely working with McDonald’s Sourcing and Vendor Management Offices as well as US Technology senior leadershipUnderstand, track and manage US Technology staffing included, but not limited to, new resource requirements, open roles and progress to close, organizational structure tracking and capacity.

Alignment & Team Collaboration

Support a culture of collaboration through outstanding partnerships & influence to ensure alignment internally and externally to US TechnologyEnsure US Technology leadership has a  ‘single source of truth,’ a transparent view of what flows through strategic planning, budget and resourcing.   Manage agendas, collect/create content, host, and capture & share notes / action items for key governance meetings related to span of control.Spot potential conflicts or overlaps among functional leads, work with senior leaders & their  teams to achieve the best outcome for the business.

The expected salary range for this role is $129,800 - $183,340

Qualifications7+ years of experience with Strategy creation, design, and articulationExperience in managing budget and cost models, demonstrating strong quantitative analysis skillsUncompromising attention to detail.Deep communication and influencing skills – developing effective, succinct and professional narratives that influence key leaders.Experience leading multiple complex cross-functional projects in parallel, including prioritizing major initiatives and negotiating trade-offs with business stakeholders.Experience and understanding of modern planning and strategic execution methods and agile planning processesExperience with demand planning & forecasting, and resource allocationAbility to drive governance and tracking of effectiveness of strategy and allocation of resourcesImpact-minded approach, with ability to articulate goals and instill action and alignment towards reaching themCurious, problem solver, and a self-starter, with a proven track record of “getting things done.”Financial competence or financial management/corporate finance experience a plusExperience designing and or implementing processes and or toolsHigh attention to detail and ability to consume large amounts of information across disparate artifacts/sources and successfully connect the dots
