Senior Manager : IT Lab Operations - Scientific Data Management Platforms

Johnson Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting a Technical Platform Manager, to be located in Spring House, PA; Beerse, BE; La Jolla, CA

We are looking for a deep technical and life science oriented Technologist to join our team.

The role will work with a diverse group of people that are passionate about providing grounbreaking solutions to our Discovery and Development teams, so they can design and develop novel medicines that will have maximum impact in treating unmet medical need. The larger team's objective is to support and accelerate RD innovation, by delivering to our RD laboratories around the world outstanding lab informatics solutions and drive operational excellence.

The platform will support many data streams for a variety of different laboratories. Operational efficiency, observability, improvement and management of change are key attributes that need to be maintained, so the platform can meet our scientists need for producing data, AI-ready.

Key ResponsibilitiesDefine vision, goals and objectives for the platforms group, co-shaping strategic demand with the product managers, aligning business and technology strategiesYou will collaborate closely with multi-functional teams, vendors, and partners to ensure the processes and platforms are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.You are responsible for the IT Lab support and the following research platforms: Scientific Data Management, Data Acquisition Networks Scientific Instrument IntegrationLead, develop and strengthen a team of about 3-5 members, providing technical guidance, support, and mentorship. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Bring technical expertise to guide the design, architecture, and implementation of software solutions.Collaborate effectively with all parties in the lab, to ensure alignment of goals and expectations.Analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Tackle technical issues, propose innovative solutions, and anticipate potential challenges.Handle multiple projects simultaneously. Prioritize tasks effectively, ensure timely completion. Contribute to a culture of quality and reliability.

Contribute to a culture of quality and reliability.QualificationsA Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Chemical EngineeringProficiency in running IT platforms, preferably in a life science environment.In-depth knowledge of the drug discovery process and IT platforms.Experience in leading the selection, build, and integration of platforms, with a deep understanding of data management, API architecture/design, and Cloud Native technologies.Ability to work with business, technology partners and vendors to translate business requirements to technology solutions and labs IT support strategy.Experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting.Good communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.Proactive and dedicated mentality, with a passion for continuous learning, professional developmentCultivates a culture of empowerment and accountability
