Key Responsibilities:The Senior Manager Credit and Collections will lead, run, and coordinate the daily operations and personnel of the Credit, Collections, and Cash application team. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures to mitigate credit risk and optimize collections for United’s receivables. This includes selecting and leading the technology and tools needed for assessing creditworthiness, supervising accounts receivable, and collaborating with internal teams and vendors to minimize bad debt losses. The Sr. Manager Credit and Collections leads the management of the the allowance for bad debt accounts maintaining reasonableness based on corporate methodologies. This position also acts as finance business owner and SME for the UATP portfolio, and is responsible for support, administration, and reporting.
Lead the daily operations of three distinct teams, including training and assisting each in procedures and technology platforms, providing operational support to meet accounting deadlinesAct as the primary resource for UATP billing system, DB Finance Analytics, and Employee BillerIQ payment platformSupervise receivable balances and aging, review and act on credit requests and credit alerts, collaborate with other departments to resolve or elevate issues, reconcile accounts, and remit settlements for credit card receivable debit balancesBuild and maintain bad debt policies and proceduresPerform monthly bad debt reserve analysis for General and Credit Card receivables, and lead the consolidated quarterly reserve analysis among all groupsComplete monthly adequacy analysis and provision entries to maintain appropriate bad debt allowance balances and minimize bad debt expenseProvide variance explanations as needed and reporting for 10Q and 10KMaintain letters of credit in which United is beneficiary, and security deposits required as terms in various agreements or issued to secure credit terms for commercial customers identified as high riskProvide requirements, review and approve LOC languageMonitor expiration dates and secure renewals as neededWork with commercial customers, banks and other teamsCollaborate with Billing, Technology, Sales, Cargo and other internal teams or vendors for special projects including any new systems or improvements, new forms of paymentProvide requirements impacting credit, collection and cash application functions and participate in development and testing Act as Finance Business owner for UATP-related projectsUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply.
